OMG is that really why they smell? |
Bully sticks are great! My two LOVE them. And yes, they are bull penises :p |
Oh, my Lord. I didn't know that!!! This is an informative site! lol The little guy on the right looks he or she is in total chewing heaven........... |
:eek:I had no idea! LOL Found this Bully sticks, also known as beef pizzles, pizzle sticks, beef sticks, steer stix, are made from 100% bull penises. Bull penis is a single ingredient of bully sticks. Some suppliers and merchants say that they sell bully sticks made of "beef tendons" or "dried muscles" as that part of the anatomy is a tendon and muscle indeeed, and this may sound less repulsive for some people with psychological barrier thinking of feeding bull privates to their furbabies. In the beginning of manufacturing process the bull's penis that is usually 23-25 inches long, is removed and cleaned. It is hung vertically for the fluids contained to fully drain. Without these fluids bully sticks are odor free. At the next stage of processing bull penises are stretched, twisted or braided, dried and then may be smoked for flavor. The result is a 30-40 inches long very hard brown stick which is cut into pieces suitable for dogs of any size. Thus you can buy small bully sticks of 4'', large beef pizzles of 30 inches and any length between, such as 5'', 6'', 7'', 9'' and 12''. As bully sticks are 100% natural product, thickness, shape and color may slighty vary. Compared to other dog chews, bully sticks last incredibly long time. It can take weeks for a small dog to chew on one bully stick, while large breeds may enjoy chewing of bull pizzles between a few hours and a few days |

What is it about the bully stick that these little ones love? I recieved my order today from Best Bully Sticks. I ordered bully sticks, a package of Himalayan Chews, and a Deer Antler. Rocco loves bully sticks but has never had the Himalayan chew or Deer antler. Of course i was very excited to see his reaction to both of these new items so I gave him first the deer antler and he enjoyed it for a while. then a couple of hours later i gave him the Himalayan chew and he was very excited over that. After he had his dinner i decided to give him a bully stick and i must say without a doubt he favors the bully stick. He has not stopped for the past couple of hours with it. the antler and the himalayan chew are laying there right next to him but he is not even looking at them! I guess there is just something about a bull penis!!!!:) |

It can take weeks for a small dog to chew on one bully stick, while large breeds may enjoy chewing of bull pizzles between a few hours and a few days HA! Toby can devour a 6" bully stick in about an hour with no distractions. I buy the 12" low odor sticks and my husband cuts them into 3" sticks so my two get one about twice a week. |

Ha. I keep clicking back on that picture just to see that look! |
I had to share this: as i posted yesterday Rocco couldn't tear himself away from his new bullystick. Well last night he goes to bed his usual time or should I say my usualy time around 11. (Now Rocco never gets up during the night except once in a blue moon to go to potty and he comes right back to bed.) Last night around 2am i wake up to the sounds of chomping and slurping and there he is ON THE FLOOR by the bed just going to town again on the bully stick. He never has ever got up in the middle of the night to go play with anything!!!! I couldn't beleive it. |

Oh, mine, too. I don't get away with anything. But I do so love to see a dog enjoying his "chew". They just seem blissful and satisfied. I can just see your Rocco down there by the bed in the middle of the night having a good go at his chewie. |
usually if the blood is fully drained from them the smell isn't quite as bad, but if not they totally reek. I swore Teegy wasn't getting those smelly things but he loves them. Check out cow trachea also a great treat and not as smelly full of glucosomine and chondroitin (did I spell that correctly) |
Josie waited at the pantry this morning for another one. LOL They loved them. |
Yorkies just love those stinky things lol |
Oh Jeez now cow trachea!!!!And I am sure most of these little ones will love cow trachea!! This is starting to sound like a horror movie!!! |
