Grooming day...whew! Today is the first day of Spring so what better day to give the girls their puppy cut...right?? Yah...what was I thinking??? Maddie Jo has already filled up a 4 gallon garbage can with her hair...there are 'parts' of her all over the garage floor and I still need to trim her face, feet and ears. Hubby and I both work on her...her coat is unbelievably thick and now that she is short she is running around like a wild woman! It's coffee break time though...babies can play for a while and then we're at it again. Moo is next...oh goody ...her coat is a little better than Maddie Jo's though so it shouldn't be quite as bad. Peanut just gets a trim...he doesn't tangle so I'll let his hair grow out again...maybe :) |

I bet they will be adorable and comfortable when your finished. I think its great your able to groom yours yourself. It sure saves alot of money. I cant do the grooming the one time I tried mine were pretty funny looking |

Yes, it really does save a few $$...the mobile groomer here wanted $45.00 each. Right now Maddie Jo looks like a Bobble Head Biewer because I haven't trimmed her head yet! She's so small after her hair gets cut...now Moo looks huge next to her! |

I know what you mean. If you can post pictures I'd love to see them. I brushed mine out really good Friday and all 4 got baths and trims yesterday. I keep saying I am going to cut my 2 cottony coats down but chicken out. I can only groom a long coat so I would have to take them somewhere to cut down and then I would be afraid of what they would end up like. |

1 Attachment(s) I'll post pictures when I get them done...if they don't look too awful bad! Maddie Jo has a combination coat but with the right conditioner it's beautiful. As a puppy she had a fantastic coat but her adult coat came in a bit more modified. Moo is mostly silk with a touch of cotton but not much...hers lays flat where Maddie Jo is 'fluffy' all the time. Their Father has an absolutely beautiful, thick, silk coat and their Mother has a thin silk coat so I'm not sure where the cotton came from. Their long coats are beautiful but way too hard to keep up so I took them all the way down except for the head and tail...I'll let them grow out enough to be fluffy from now on but no more than that. I'm not good at the feet though so they always look unfinished or something until they grow out a little. It's amazing how big they look until they get cut down and then they look like a different dog! I hope I can use this photo without getting in any trouble...I don't know who's dog it is...I found the picture on the internet when I searched for puppy cuts. This is how I want them to look when their hair grows out a little...I have to let the hair on their ears grow some too. I love this look! |

And...we're done...with the clipping and trimming anyway! Now it's coffee time again...then baths and bows for the girls and then it's Peanut's turn. The girls are happy with their short cuts :D |

It's great that you groom them yourselves... It really does save quite a bit of money! I bet they look adorable with their shorter cuts :) I groom both of mine, and always give them summer cuts. I've been wanting to trim them down, but I'm trying to wait out for the nicer weather... I love that puppy cut you posted! That pup looks so clean and fluffy :) Make sure to post pics when you're done! |

I saw a Shi-tzu mix getting this cut done at Petco and I fell in love! I asked the girl if he was one of their 'up for adoption' pets or if he had a family...she said he had a family already and I said that was good because if he was up for adoption I'd be in trouble when I got home! LOL! |

I used to trim Muffin and we had to take breaks, too. We'd both get tired!:D |
