Would this be a good harness? Im currently looking for a new harness for my yorkie, the one she has now I feel like it is too small for her. She has the matching colllar to this harness, does it look like a good one? Top Paw® Mia Collection Dog Harnesses - Great Gifts Sale - Holiday Sales - PetSmart The one she has now is a different style, it wraps around her belly and clips on her back and I dont really like it, it's a real pain to put on! |
I prefer the Buddy Belt since it does not go around the dogs neck. Welcome to BUDDY BELT (A Division of Class Art Productions Inc.) Look into this one it is a little more $ but its leather so as your dog wears it, it molds to your dogs body and gets softer! One medical concern with yorkies is a collapsed trachea. So i prefer not to have anything around my dogs neck for that reason! Better safe than sorry i think :) Good luck with your search! hope this helps!!!! |

I'd say no because it seems to be around the throat, Yorkie's have delicate trachea, buddy belt is awesome because it's around the front legs and torso rather than the neck or throat |
We use a step-in that doesn't go near the neck area. I tried Puppia (didn't purchase) on Prince once, but it is too high on the neck for a yorkie. I wrote to the company to ask why they advertise that it is not near the throat area, when it is, but never heard back from them. This is the one I use on Ian...very easy on and off, and very secure. I have mesh harnesses very similar to the picture Prince's Mom showed, for all of mine. Those are what I usually use for a walk. They are so strong and safe, I feel secure leaving the yard with them. I like the vest-type fabric harnesses made by so many YT vendors the best though. The fabric ones are soft and divide the pressure all over the body so no pressure-point rubbing (besides they are SO pretty!). |

I have always had step in harnesses ever since for all the girls. I get them from Chattiesmom and I have the Buddy Belts. Love them!! |

Anyways, I love Puppia for the most part. I'm still searching for that 'perfect' harness but I always end up going back to Puppia. Jackson is a bigger boy at 16lbs but it's all my friends Yorkies wear (4lbs and 6lbs) and they have no coughing/gagging troubles. But Buddy Belts are great and I'd recommend them! They just didn't fit Jackson properly. Another cheaper but similar option is the leather 'ChokeFree' harness. |

Then what is the buddy belt that helps with bladder that isn't controlled? |
that's for old people with the trots |
Have you seen the cloths harnesses people on here sell? They are like t-shirts and dresses with D-rings...so cute and so functional! Check the for sale section on here...there are also silk harnesses and others...the prices here are totally decent and the quality of the hand made items by other members is incredible. |
