Gizmo has chewed through 3 harnesses. Any suggestions on what type of indestructible harness I can buy for the little booger?

Maybe teach him not to chew on it? Would be cheaper that way...:D

Probably NOT.... They are either leather, nylon or some other material that all can be chewed through. One of my Yorkies chewed through four leather collar as a pup. Not sure how he pulled that off but he did, or he just got his jaw stuck, What a sight that was.

What kind of harnesses are you using? I use step in style harnesses and I can't figure out how my dogs would get down that far to chew...

It's step in and I just bought him a new one today, came home and got him out of the crate and the harness was chewed right through.
Gah!!! This is getting expensive. And each time we're at home and see him chewing on it, we make the noise and he stops.

Why are you leaving it on him when he's in the crate? I only put them on when we are going for a walk...

Just so he gets use to it. But I think we may just put it on him when he needs to go out to go potty. And when under supervision. No other dog that I have had has done this before, and I let them in the crate with it.

How old is he? I think all mine would chew theirs if I put them in the crate with it on. They get bored so easily.

My smallest female always grabs the leash and starts munching away at it even before the harness is put on her... and she's 4 years old! She just gets so excited to be going out!

She wears it fine on a walk, she associates wearing it with going out, so she doesn't mind it at all. I walk them 2-4 times a day.

I think, too, if you did find one he couldn't chew through, he may end up breaking his teeth trying to chew through it...

good point i talked with my fiancée and we agreed to have the harness on for walks, and the collar on only to go out to potty, but when he's in the crate he can go naked...Save us some money lol.

May I suggest not feeding Gizmo harnesses for supper

Cheap ones until you correct the behavior...thick or wide braided rope ones last longest...i really love the t-shirt and dress "harnesses" many people on here sell they look like clothing but have D rings...they may get chewed too so start off with one you aren't completely in love with.

Whoa wait...why are they crated with one on?

I love Buddy Belt, they are durable leather and no where near the neck or throat.
Teegy only wears his when we go out.
