Hello From Japan All is well where we are, we were without power for a couple of days , and after getting power we all realized what happened just outside the gates of our base. I live in northern Japan and just 2 hours south of here was where the quake hit and tsunami was the worst. Our neighboring cities were hit pretty bad. Thankfully the base sits just far enough from the water that we didnt substain any damage except minor damage from the quake. Bella and Blossom have been scared..Im surprised Bella hasnt shakened herself to death, and Blossom loves to sit on my shoulder these days. We have had many many aftershocks. We spent 2 nights in the dark and cold. We have power but its very limited right now. My husband is currently deployed to the middle east. The kids, dogs and I are ok. A bit shakin up, but now focused on helping our Japanese host. I will post address' to anyone that would like to help with sending supplies to help the people of Japan as well as animals that have been displaced. I have attached a touching video of a dog and his/her friend...PLease continue to Keep Japan in prayers...God Bless |
I am glad you are okay. That was such a tragic event and still ongoing. I have donated some money that I had and I have being praying for the people of Japan. If you would please post a address and a list of supplies for people to send to Japan. Thanks and god bless you guys! ^^ Your video was so sad. Those poor animals. |
So good for you to check in with us! Glad you and your pups are okay. I can't even imagine all you've gone through and will continue to keep your host family and the rest of Japan in my thoughts and prayers. |
I'm very glad you are safe, however, I am sure you are shaken up. Your little yorkies are understandably scared. That video was on the evening news. It was very touching. Did you know those two were saved and taken to a vet's office for care?:) I'm sure your husband was very worried about you. |
I am so happy to hear that you and your family are ok. Stay well and know that you and all the others in Japan will remain in our prayers. The stress and devastation is going to be with you and all of us for a long long time. |

Mandy4 how far away from the nuclear plants are you? Pres. Obama is offering to evacuate US citizens & military families..... are you considering this? Please try to update when you can, we are all praying for you and the others in Japan. |
I are glad to hear you and your family are ok. I must be so unsettling with all the aftershocks. I remember how I reacted after the Northridge quake here. Sending prayers and donations to the people of Japan. Bless them and shelter them from further tragedy. Best Wishes to you for your continued safety and recovery. |
Stay well and safe. Hope they get a handle on things over there real fast. |

Glad you are safe. Our hearts and prayers go out to all who have been affected by this terrible tragedy. |
So grateful that you took the time to update us on Japan's catastrophies and letting us know that you are doing well. Prayers are with you..... |
So glad to hear you and your family are safe. Prayers to all in Japan... stay well and safe. |
Glad you and yours are safe. I am keeping all in Japan in my prayers...such heartbreaking pictures and videos of devastation. |
Very happy to hear that you and your pups are safe. Sending best wishes and prayers for everyone in Japan. |
I have been crying a lot just watching the devastation from the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan. My prayers are with everyone effected by this horrific disaster. That video of the dogs brought tears to my eyes. I pray someone was able to help them. |
Thank You for all the warm thoughts and prayers... We are about 250 miles north of the nuclear plant. As of right now we are in NO danger. Winds blowing from the north to the south... They do have voluntary evacuations going on at this time. However, they are not sure about taking pets with us, because it is only voluntary and because they active duty personel would be staying behind. My sistuation is a little different being that my husband is deployed to the midde east, I would have to leave them here in the kennel or find someone to keep them. People leaving here could be gone for months....So with all that, I have decided that my kids and I are staying here. Theres no danger to us, if the situation arises and we HAVE to evacuate or things seem to be getting worse for us, we will do so and will be able to take Bella and Blossom along with us.:D Gas and kerosene is getting low, but they are announcing that our schools will be opeing up on Monday, so thats good news. Our Commissary(grocery store) Is stocked and has PLENTY of food. We are a small, close knit community here and everyone is making decisions based on whats best for them...we are working hard to help our Japanese host with clean up and relief efforts are ongoing as our base is the HUB for USAID. I will try to update as I get more info, but right now all is as good as to be expected right now....please continue to pray God Bless :) |

I'm so glad you and your babies are OK. All of us in the states are praying for you. |
It is so good to hear that you and yours are all okay. Cannot imagine what you have been through since the disaster and with worries about your husband. I'll bet your Yorkies are wondering why everyone is so tense and worried and they are worried, too. Thankfully, you are in a region that sounds safe and I pray you can stay home safely through this. It sounds like a lot of relief is on the way to Japan and hopefully things will get better in a while. Please stay on YT as you can and let us know how you and your family are doing. We around the world are keeping Japan in our prayers. My Yorkie, Tibbe, from Texas says "Hey" to your little Yorkies. |
They just had a little story on Foxnews about the two dogs in that video and they said the dogs were rescued and are doing fine.:) |
Sending continued prayers for you and those in Japan and for your husband. May he be kept from harm and return to you safely. |
