Do you do it or pay someone to? I groom Minnie myself, she has not been to the groomers since we have had her. She tolerates me combing out knots and brushing her hair. She is most behaved when she gets out of the bath. Any other time she wants to play, not mean bites. She is still teething anyways. |
I tried grooming mine once but didnt like how it turned out. I have a groomer that does a wonderful job and grooms them exactly how I like. They are going tomorrow to be groomed and I cant wait they are so cute and smell so good when they come home |
I've been with the same groomer for 11 years. Love love her. She does exactly what i ask for. |

I went to 2 groomers...and HATED Daizy's cut....so I 'tried' to do it myself for the last year....until I realized she looked terrible!! :( So I found another groomer and she looks MUCH better!! But it's going to take some time for her to get to where I want her to look...wish the groomer could glue back on hair...I cut her legs too SHORT...and her back hair was too long...she looked so silly...lol:rolleyes: I really admire anyone that can groom their own!! Many people just teach themselves!! It saves a LOT of money! I just don't have the patience.:D |
I groom my own. I always have...that way I get the exact look I want (and if I don't...there's no one else to blame :p ) My new pup just had a bath & brush, feet & nail trim tonight. I totally lucked out with this new puppy. She is amazingly good about bathing, having water on her face, staying still to be groomed....which is awesome, cos she sleeps in my bed so she's getting a bath at least once a week for life :D |
I take Kelsey to the groomer's. Well since I've had her (since July 2010) she has only been to the groomer's once. But she is about to go again. I like the job they do. And I like my dogs to have a short cut. I think it looks really cute. But if I knew how to do the grooming I would do it myself. But I do give her baths. |
mickey goes to the groomer 3x a year and gets 1/4 inch puppy cut each time hehe i'm thinking of taking coco to groomers too. but i'm thinking pehaps taking her back to the breeder cuz she also has a lady who grooms. last time i attempted to groom mickey i was about 9 or 10 years old and i couldnt get mickey's knots out and he didnt like me brushing him so i decided to cut them off instead... got grounded for the weekend boo! |

I cut hair, bathe, trim nails, brush teeth, clean ears, and do anals. The only thing I'd consider paying for (unless there is a medical problem with the above obviously) is the cut/bath. I am definitely not a groomer, and if I wanted it to be perfect, she'd go somewhere for it. But she is cute and there is no reason for us to spend the $$$ on it. |
I only have two local groomers on the island.. Neither of them do a good job in my eyes. I'm still waiting for Holly's top knot hair to grow back. One of them snipped it right off! Now she has really atrocious bangs. I never even said I wanted a cut at all. Just belly and her area trimmed. Ughhh. I will try groom her myself from now on!! :(:thumbdown |
Roxy is in desperate need of a cut, I can\'t see the poor thing\'s eyes if I don\'t tie her hair up on her head. I\'m currently looking for a groomer because I\'m too scared to do it myself. I do want to see her pretty face so for now so I\'ll just tie her hair up, several times a day until we find a groomer we\'re comfortable with. |
I take Callie to the groomers and recently sense my mom got Sammy both of them and two is pretty darn expensive. I am looking into doing it myself. I bought a grooming dvd and have watched some youtube videos on grooming, when my dvd gets here and I watch it I\'m gonna decided if I\'m for sure gonna do it and buy the stuff or not. All the groomers Callie has gone to and even all the vets and vet techs say how cooperative she is and she really is even when I\'m bathing her and brushing her teeth so I think she will be great at letting me do it. |
Taycie has been to the groomers only once.. They did a good job but I must admit I am sucker for the long hair look so we are grow out mode.. So now I groom her at home. I watched some videos online and there is a Sticky in the grooming section with awesome advice! Being a hair stylist.. it has been rather easy to pick up.. |
