Can't get a straight answer... Okay, I've been looking on websites and I keep getting a different answer on each site. Gizmo is going to be 4 months, and I think he's teething. Is that too young? My Cairn Terriers did at about 4-5 months, but I know breeds differ. We've been giving him a kong with nothing in it to chew on, simply because he was having a little bit of runny poop earlier, and he's gnawing on it like it's going out of style. He also has chewed through a few of his toys and one of his harnesses. Is this normal? Gizmo's Mommy. |
Yes! Give him plenty of variety of toys to chew on and be sure to check them for wear frequently. |
It sounds like he's right on time for teething. I found one thing that Rhett loved while teething was a sock filled with crushed ice, it seemed to help with his discomfort. |
definitely teething. We got Hot Rod at about 4 mos old and he was gnawing one everything. One toy that he really like to chew on was a small bone shaped toy with little nubbys on it. I used to put it in his crate with him. |
Bitsy is also going through the same thing. I have one of those toys with the nubbies on it, I put it in the freezer for about an hour and then give it to her, she seems to enjoy that |

Very normal, Poppy began to teeth around the same age. Make sure your pup has plenty of chew toys. You can also get some toys which you soak and then place in the freezer, these are good to sooth sore gums. |
Oliver loves the nylon bones with bumps. We put it in the freezer. He also loves the puppy kong filled with peanut butter and frozen. Oh Oliver is 4 1/2 months old now. We got him at 6 weeks with only 1 tooth now he has a full set of teeth and he's still going strong. |
