Question regarding buddy belt I was reading the post regarding collars and came across the word buddy belt so I searched ebay for them...talk about sticker shock. Surely these do not run 40 to 70 dollars? We tried the harness, way to much hassle in trying to get drake in one and he would potty himself before I would be able to get it on him. He does currently wear a collar but after reading about trachea issues it probably isn't good for me to use the leash and walk him. Does anyone know of a site that has better pricing for the belt? If I can't find a better price then I may try to make something myself. I wish we didn't have to use any restraint system but living out in the boonies and having big birds and coyotes leave me no option. |
Yes, those prices are correct for the Buddy Belt. But from what I have learned from members on here - they last forever and you won't be disappointed with the product. I have a harness and leash purchased from Chattiesmom a member on here they are made of silk and I like it. Look her up, they come in a variety of colors and reasonable prices. Also Puppia makes a step-in harness that pretty reasonable in price. |
Hi, my 5 year old Mr. Perkins only needs a harness when we go for a walk. On the otherhand my 5 year old Pom Priscilla has to wear one whenever she goes out... loves to chase squirrels, birds and cats... so I searched online and found tons of sites on how to make a harness. I have a lot of store bought ones but I wanted one that was super lite weight and comfortable for her to wear most of the time. I bought thin, very lightweight grosgrain ribbon in a pretty pink for her. It was quick & easy and fits her perfectly. |

When looking at the price, consider the amount of time and wear you will get out of the Buddy Belt. |
My two furkids only wear buddy belts because it's the only one that they couldn't wiggle out of (they're both a little over 3 lbs). They wear a size 2 and the price averages around $42-45. They are leather and I could see then lasting for the life of my dogs so really your investment in one great quality harness really just works out to a few dollars a year. Sooooooooo worth the price! |
Those prices are correct. I had to save up for Callies but it was very well worth it. They are made wonderfully and will last a very long time. Plus with the buckle its easy to adjust if you put clothes or a jacket on them. |

Yes they are a little pricey... But worth it from what I hear:) I will be buying my two buddy belts soon... I just need to decide on colors :p |
My girls all have the Buddy Belts and I mainly use them to strap them into the seat belts because the sternum area is protected, or on cold days when they need sweaters, I put the BB over their sweaters for walking. I also make dress harnesses and I use a wide velcro for safety reasons in case I either need to pull them up very quickly when walking or for the car seat belt. |
buddybelt is well worth the investment when your pet has grown to it's adult size. My new pup is in the puppia harness for now until she is done growing. |
