Chloe has a sister!!S Hello everyone!! i haven't posted in a while, i have been traveling but now i am back home to my baby... and her sister!!!! When I first got Chloe, i got her from a friend and one of my guy friends go her little sister, well, my guy friend got sick and couldnt take of Melody anymore, so he gave her to me!! now i have Chloe and Melody... two beautiful energetic little fur babies!! i love them to death... but Chloe is super jealous and picks fights with Melody all the time.. even though Melody is bigger than her and always wins hehehe.... i dont know what to do to help them get use to each other...:eek::eek::eek::eek: |
I am sorry that it is a rough transition but I wish you well and just wanted to say congratulations! :) |
Congratulations! Maybe if you hold Chloe on your lap and then pet Melody Chloe will feel like she can share you. I guess it will take time and then they will be best buddies as well as sisters. Maybe it's like sibling rivalry with kids. |
Congratulations on the addition. I love having multiples, even sisters, though there can be a little adjustment time in the beginning. Are both girls spayed, (I don't know the age of the dogs)? I do think it helps them "make nice" with other dogs. |
Thanks everyone... they are adorable and i just cant help but love them.... they are 4 1/2 months old right now... i am planning on spaying them in May... having them has been amazing.... i know it will take time, but it looks like they are already getting along.... i am crossing my fingers everything goes great..... I have a question... i read in some other thread here in YT that having 2 females from the same litter is not recommended... why??? |
Breeders have certain recommendations like that sometimes, but I don't know what the research or reasoning behind it is. Some say get dogs 2 years apart, or don't get 2 same sex, etc., or that it's harder to house train 2. But, I can say that having 2 sisters from same litter (the light Morkies in my avatar) has been one of the best doggie experiences I have ever had. They are so cute together, I have never regretted for one minute taking both of them. Seriously, it has been pure joy. I know you are going to love it too. Since they are still so young, some of their "fighting" might be just the way young pups play, though I know it can seem kinda rough sometimes. |
That's great that you got her sister. I hope they will get along eventually. They would be great company for each other.:) |
I have two sister bassets from the same litter. They are really close and won't go anywhere without each other. I have to admit though it was a little rough to housebreak them but now everything is great. |
thanks everyone for your advice... they are doing better as the days pass by... Chloe is about 1 or 2 pounds smaller than Melody (i think she is gonna be a teapot!! heheehhe) I love them both to pieces..... Chloe likes her sister as long as she is not on my lap.... when cuddling time comes, Chloe makes sure Melody doesnt get on my lap...that's HER territory!! hehhehe :).....i dont regret bringing Melody home at all... she brings me pure joy... Now my thing is since Melody got here Chloe got diarrhea... is that normal??? maybe she is stressed out or something... no idea... help please!!! |
I've always heard get two a year apart at least, girls will be bitches and fight...LOL...still makes me giggle...but never, never, never two sisters, especially from the same litter...wonder why? |
