meeting new dogs im picking up coco on friday and im so excited!!!! I was wondering, when is too early to have her mingle with other dogs? when i pick her up, she would have her last set of her puppy shots (she gets them on thursday & this week she'll be 15 weeks old). I want to make sure she's socialized with bigger dogs from early on so she doesn't cause trouble like how mickey did (he had a traumatic experience at the park as a puppy so he hates big dogs) I also want her to meet her fur siblings Mickey who lives with my mom in the other side of the city & my aunt's westie terrier will it be ok if i took her on sunday to see them? |

Quite frankly, I wouldn't let her little paws touch anywhere outside, or be with other dogs just yet. She can still get parvo even though she's had the vaccine. Your moms dog could possibly bring the parvo virus inside, but not get it himself since he's older, but your baby could easily get it even inside your moms home. I had a dog who had her one year parvo booster and still got a major case of parvo. It's nasty stuff and can be transmitted thru her paws while just walking around outside. You will have your baby for many years, so there's plenty of time to let her socialize. ;) |

You usually want to wait at least 2 weeks after the last set of shots before letting them socialize. It takes that long for the vaccine to take effect. |
