international microchipping i am getting a new puppy and i will be getting her microchipped (of course!) but since ill be in korea and moving back to toronto in august & I definately see myself moving (within Canada at least) so I would like to get an international or world wide accepted chip. I tried googling microchip for dogs and found minimal information on international microchips. Does anyone have one in their dog? if so do you know the brand name??? Thanks :) |
Full Duplex (ISO compatible kind) it's all about frequency chip runs on and the limitations of the registries internet acessability in that country actually: ICA-International Canine Association Homeagain can be registered in several many countries (ISO compatible) AVID is also compatible and international |
Petlink.net That is ours, and it is eu compliant (15 digits) |
Am I wrong Home Again just adds extra digits in the beginning (or maybe it was ending) that are the US code to their 9 digit code thus making it 15...but the frequency has to be compatible to the scanners used worldwide? |
Yes there ISA frequency difference between chips that are iso or eu compliant and those that are not So, it is not only about the number of digits... |
im completely lost. When you get the chip implanted do you just pay for the chip & the insertion and you must register your own dog to a website? or does the implantation come with the website registration? also, if i were to buy this iso fdx b/11784 chip that reads at the 134.2kHz and register to one site, when i move can i register somewhere else? |
