Walking hunched over. Nigel, my 6 year old yorkie, was walking hunched over (head down, body sluggish), and seemed excessively lethargic on Sunday. I called the vets office on Monday morning, and was asked if he was eating and acting otherwise normal. He is, and was, and they said that maybe he just slept funny. So I changed their beds (I have two, Simon and Nigel; Simon is still normal, ie, super hyper), but Nigel still seems lethargic. He is still eating fine, and he is barking and chasing his brother, but he keeps going to his room for naps instead of laying around the family room with us. Have your pups ever behaved the same way? |
Walking hunched over could be a sign of pain or a problem with his spine. I think the vet should have taken it more seriously and you should get a 2nd opinion from a vet |

The hunching over could be a pain symptom and needs to be checked out. I hope everything is ok. |

I agree also... |
I also agree to see a vet. You know your baby better than anyone so trust your instincts. Catching a problem early is much better than letting something progress too long. Even if you have an evaluation to ease your mind, at least you know. |
Does his tummy feel a little full or a little bloated? Tibbe acted this way when he was constipated and once he pooped, he was back to himself. I was about to leave for the vet when he pooped. Vet is your best bet when you don't know what's going on with your Yorkie, I think. |
