Can I Reverse My Male's Neuter hi all i was just wondering if you can have the neutering of a male reversed. any replies will be much appreciated. thanks |
Do you mean you already had him neutered, and you want to undo it? i really don't think thats possible.... |
I dont think you can. Why do you want to anyway? |
They take off the gonads when they neuter male animals. So there is no sperm left. I have never heard of a gonad (balls) transplant. |
i definatley don't think they can reverse it |
When they are gone , they never come back . |
Sorry, can't be done. Why would you want to????? |
No that can not be done. |
Thanks for your responses......I was just wondering because i had my gorgeous 1 yr old male neutered very early on and yesterday we got an adorable little female...........and I was just thinking that I would love to have a house full of these beautiful little babies, I love them so much! and I know that I would be able to give them a wonderful home as I do not work outside the home. So anyways thats why I wanted to know.....I figured that my little male is perfect, and now I have this gorgeous female ( i will post pics soon). thanks again all |
There is an alternative to full neutering that is similar to a man having avasectomy but it is not common so I doubt this was the procedure performed on your male, unfortunately. It is much less involved and and is possibly reversible. For those who are interested there is also a procedure similar to tubal ligation for female dogs which is much less invasive as a result and not as risky as a spay but still renders the female unable to conceive puppies. |

Where will they find the original " balls " ? |
Where'd those original ones go anyway? Quote:
LOL - I believe the procedure she is talking about involves cauterizing or tying the tubes that carry the semen. So the gonads would still be inplace. I have heard that some vets will implant prosthetic gonads in some males so that he will still have the same outward appearance, just an FYI. ;) Tracy |
I dont think it can be done. I never heard of it. |

I am interested knowing about this procedure on both my boys, but I really would like to breed sami and have a little girl (of course she will be spade). IS there a site i could read more about this procedure? thanx for the info Kim  |
You could do a web search on "vasectomy dog" and/or "reversal vasectomy dog"; quite a few web sites do come up. Looks like some problems would be subjecting male to multiple surgeries (which for smaller yorkies could be trouble) and the possibility of lack of return of viable sperm. But there is information available. Just thought I would throw that out. |
