Puppy Drop Off 1 Attachment(s) I am so mad. I had to run some errands on Saturday and was gone for about 1-1/2 hours. When I returned home my gate was closed and I normally don't close my gate if I am not gone long. I do more in the summer cause I have a pool that is behind another locked gate. But just to be safe I close the front gate too. So after I drive in my drive way I look around my property sitting in my car don't see anything out of place execpt for the hawk on the fence that has been terrorizing me an dmy babies so I open my door and I hear a puppy yapping. I was startled at first then I am like no I know mine are inside so I get out and walk to close my gate and as I am walking back to my car to get my stuff I see four little legs under my car. I panic at first cause the legs were almost the same color of my female. I drop everything and run over there and out comes a little puppy. Some low life moron must have either dopped the puppy off at my place and shut the gate or someone found it on the road and thought it might have come from my place and put it in my yard and shut the gate. Needless to say none of my neighbors seen anything. I went to several different houses and no-one has lost this puppy. I took her to my porch got some puppy food and water and feed her. She acted as if she was very hungry. She looked like she probably has worms. Little belly is very round looking. I did keep her from my two cause not sure if she had any thing deadly that mine would catch. I searched again on Sunday for anyone else and no one lost a puppy. I know someone dumped that puppy and that pees me off so bad. I feed her gave her a nice warm place to sleep and stay out of danger. I can not afford another dog at this time so today I called my vet and they gave me a number for someone to pick her up and they would treat her and home her. I would love to find the person that did this though. Attachment 338945 |
Aw man, she is so cute. That is so sad. |
That is so horrible. How can anybody do that. I have a 4 month old shih tzu that somebody abandoned in a carton in the back of our drug store parking lot. He was put in a carton with his 3 sisters. He was 6 weeks old when we found him, Thankfully they were all adopted right on the spot. If I didn't have 4 dogs already I would have taken them all. The least people could do was turn the dogs into a rescue or shelter. It was about 18 degrees that day. If we hadn't stopped to buy cigarettes God only knew what would have happened to them. Bless you for doing the right thing and helping this poor dog. I know how you feel because I would give anything to find out who could leave 6 week old puppies in the freezing cold. |

It is sad how they are dumped like garbage. I'm glad the pupp will have a good home and be taken care of. |
That puppy was lucky to "find" you! Bless your heart for getting her some help! |
Mean People Suck! I don't ever want to know anyone that can be that cruel. It's hard to believe someone would do something like that. A hawk could have picked it up. I'm hopeful the pup will find a good home. You were so nice to take care of it. I'd be so angry too, just realizing how mean people can be. I'm glad I'm a dog person. People scare me!! :) Please keep us posted so we know how the pup is doing. He looks like he has some boxer in him/her. What a little cutie. |

oh my daughter has been looking to rescue a boxer pup.. but she is in Texas so that won't help. I hope all works out ok |
She is so adorable. She does look like Boxer mix. Poor thing yet lucky grrl that she didn't end up with a sicko person. I hope she will find a loving home. |

She def has some boxer in her. So cute! I'm glad she will get taken care of and a home. Many get run over or die of starvation. When I was teen someone dropped off a hound mix at my house. Little did we know she would have puppies. 13 and 11 lived. I'm sure people knew she was bred so they dropped her off. Animals never deserve that. |
I called and checked on "Jazie". Sorry I had to give her a name while she was with me. She is doing fine. Lady told me Jazie will have no problem getting a home fast. She agreed, she is so adorable. Said she is doing well and appears to be in good health. She thanked me for taking care of her over the week-end. Said most people would not have done that. She told me to call back anytime and check on her. |
Great news! |
:thumbup::thumbup:I'd have called to check on her too. Thanks for updating everyone...curious minds and all. Quote:

Maybe she wasn't really dumped in your yard. Perhaps someone saw her around your house or even in your yard, saw the open gate and assumed she was yours. The person who put her in there may have thought she/he was doing a good deed by shutting the gate. |

I thought that too, but where my house is and where my neighbors are this little pup would have had to walk a long way. I have two acres and no-body's house is close to me. That is why I went to the houses near to see if anyone lost a pup. I am basically where the hard road ends and a dirt road begins. I really feel like it is a drop off and someone may have seen her on the road and thought she was mine put her in the gate. I really don't think she was purposely put in my yard by the "drop-off" person. |
Well, either/or, you did a wonderful thing. I am so glad for her and hope you continue to check in on her welfare. You know, we all will be looking for post.........:) |
I have to tell this story about a Kitty Drop Off. Your post just reminded me this which I had forgotten about. When we lived in an apartment awhile back we had 4 red tabbys. They used to all greet me when I came home from work. One day I came home and there were 5 red tabbys greeting me. I thought I was losing my mind. The only way I thought this cat could have gotten into my apartment was if my neighbor let him in. I had given her a key in case of an emergency. Well I went over to her apartment and she said Oh btw I let J.B in he must have escaped somehow. When I told her it wasn't J.B she was totally floored. Well I tried to let the cat out but he didn't want to leave. Well P.S. We ended up with a new cat named Garfield. We put out posters and even a notice in the paper but when nobody claimed him we kept him because I wouldn't bring him to a pound. |
I'm so glad to hear that Jazie is doing well. You were so very kind to have kept her over the weekend and to make sure she will have a nice home. At least YOU will be able to sleep at night. I hope the person who dropped her off isn't sleeping at all. Although, if they are that type of person, they probably haven't given her a second thought. :( Again, I'm so happy she will be well taken care of. Keep us posted as to how she is doing. :) |
