One of my Yorkies is a Bone Hoarder He takes everyones bones and keeps them in his hiding place. Caught him this morning laying on the bones and daring anyone to come near. Gotta love these Yorkies....:) |
Lissette, sounds like Beamer and Sonny. same with toys.. they both think they are ALL theirs! |
4 Attachment(s) Basil is leaving Maxine's alone, but he is dragging around Carlo's big bones |
To funny!!! Bella hoards hers also. I lost the remote to tv and was feeling down in the couch between the cushions and I felt two or three rawhides in the couch. They are to funny. |
LOL, all the toys are mine! My first Yorkie was like that. All the toys were his. When we were getting ready to leave for work in the morning, he would go stand by the toy box and guard it. "I know you are leaving. Don't even think about taking the toys with you, they are staying here with me!" When we were in the back yard, if he thought we were going towards a certain flower bed, he would run and guard the garden gnome there. We would pretend to walk in that direction just so he would run to the gnome, lean up against it, and dare us to come any closer to HIS gnome. Poor little guy, when he passed before the age of 3 from cardiomyopathy, we put that garden gnome on top of his little grave. |
lol, my Gwenni does the same thing... when I separate out laundry and leave a pile on the floor I'll find chews buried in the clothes and we'll find treats "buried" in the corners of the couch. Sometimes its just so funny to watch the places she thinks she's hidden them. |
Ha-ha! They are really something else.:D |
Thats cute! Chachi is the hoarder in my house. Jewels just lets him have whatever she has |
This is so funny. My female is the chew bone hoarder. She don't care which one it is but she don't want Jack having any of them. I found her hiding one of the favorite chew bones behind the couch. Was so funny. And yes finding the treats laying around is cute. They think they are hiding them. Josie gets really mad (she'll growl) if Jack walks near an area she thinks she has hidden a bone or treat. Dead give away. |
Zoe is a bone and toy hoarder also! She gets VERY angry when the others try to play with their fair share. I am amazed that this little 2 1/2 lb sweetheart will turn on them viciously and sound like she may take a leg off them. (And they're 17 lbs. minimum!) I recently got her a stuffed purse, high-heeled shoe, and cell phone in the Target dollar bins, by the way. Perfect! |
My Elsa is not a bone horder but when she was a puppy anything that was "lost" in the house was always found in her bed. My sister-in-law was over one day and lost a big hooped earring. She called me the next morn to see if I had found it. I told her to hold on I will look...in Elsa's bed that is....sure enough it was there. Her little baby is doing the same thing. |
I got my new adoptee Max his first dental bone and he took it and tried to bury it in his dog bed. Pretty funny stuff. |

When I give bones, it's always one to each of mine. I wouldn't dare not ! Anyway, it doesn't matter how much larger bone my Female puppy Becca gets, she always drops it, and goes over and my Male (2yo) Sneakers always lets her have his, and he goes and chews on the one I gave her. He's SO tolerant of "His Puppy", bless his heart ! ;) (even though they are Brother/Sister, same Sire/Dam) |
Zach is the same way. I give each of the puppies a bone and Zach will hide his for later and bother everybody else for theirs |
Cooper is my hoarder. She will get all the toys she can gather, take them under the dinning room table, and lay with them, maybe chewing on one. :) It is cute. Maddie pays her no attention unless she tries to take the toy outta her mouth, which Cooper will do! :p Ernie has no toys. Cooper has the poor guy living by the rule, "What's yours is mine, and what's mine is mine. " |
Maddie is a hoarder. She is exactly like the commercial for insurance (or whatever it is) where the dog is constantly moving its bone worried someone would find it :D |
oh that is cute I've not met a yorkie yet who didn't like to take things and save it for later. My binky used to get mad at the kids...she'd steal my sons gameboy games..my daughters beanie babies off her shelves...and one of her dads socks...always one so he couldn't leave she figured...once my daughter was looking for her cellphone...miss binky had stolen it Savannah is a stasher too and uses her doggie stroller to put everything in |
GEES, it's so comical reading your replies.... There must be some MasterDoggyProgrammer somewhere that downloads the same profile to each one of our lovable mutts ! :D |
Denzil likes to 'bury' his bones in my bed, I found one the other night when I put my hand on it and had the fright of my life! The bone was huge and I don't know how he managed to get it up onto the bed in the first place! |
Linus likes to have a bone within 10 inches of him at all times, so rather than putting all the bones in one place, they are ALL OVER the house. You seriously can't walk 2 steps without stepping on one. The thing he hoards are these Kong squeaky tennis balls. His favorite game is to play fetch with himself where he throws the ball down the stairs, chases after it then takes it back to the top of the stairs to play again. Therefore, those squeaky balls are his favorite toy ever. Yet somehow, when I want to play with one with him, I can never find one anywhere despite having bought at least 20 of them over the past year or so. Then, last week, I washed my couch slipcover and had to pull out the couch to put it back on. I found 16 of those stupid squeaky tennis balls behind the couch!! He was saving all of them back there! |
Okay I'm sad to say I was excited to read this thread at first but now that it's so cute I'm actually disappointed...Princess has the A-typical mini schnauzer persona..if she sees it, it's hers, if she once had it, it's hers, if you have it, it's hers...I say she rules the roost but really she's a bully! She's the youngest was the smallest until recently and she pushes my poor boys Elvis and Scoobers around all day...now she's not really violently aggressive she gently bites them in play and she does use both her paws to push them around like a bear (hence we call her the polar bear monster-she also "pounces on things like a polar bear on a seal den) Anyways she takes the toys away from the boys all the time! I get the boys another toy and she drops what she has and takes theirs...I was so hoping someone else had this issue and had figured out a way for inner harmony...I feel like I've tried everything with her-attention, discipline, praise, treats, and nothing works-that perhaps it's just her dominant female mini schnauzie persona...the Yorkies just can't seem to et one over on her...but they do occasionally gang up...we have coined it the Yorkie rebellions... |
Suzi is a Bully Stick hoarder... Every time I give both my little dogs a bully stick, Suzi takes the other one from Miely , then goes back on the couch with her bully stick , & Miely's. She then keeps Miely's bone while chewing on hers. She also has been known for hiding them too. It is only with the bully sticks that she does not want to "share" We have to give poor Miely her's back, but Suzi always does it again. I hate to think of her as a "selfish" little bully stick hoarder, but she just can't help herself to just one . ;) |
HA, here we go again ! :D My Male Sneakers would wait till my Female Becca (still a puppy) would go get a drink or outside to potty. When she was gone, he would sneak over to her bunk, and steal her Bully Stick. Her Bunk is underneath the Breakfast Table, so.... I used a Nylon Cord, tyeing the Bully Stick mid way with a cinch loop, then tied the other end up to where the Table Legs bolt to the Table Top. It's just long enough (hangs down) to lay in her bunk where she can chew it, but, He can't take it !!! |
