Pistol was chipped in October. He has no clue it's even there. |

We did for the off chance that they could get away from us and get lost. It's worth it. |
What the average cost of the mirco-chip? I've been thinking about this when it's time for Kody to get fixed. |
All microchips have the potential of migration, but it shouldn't be a problem. My two furbabies are both around 3 lbs and are both microchipped. No problems at all! |
My pup was chipped at my request before I brought her home. I think it is very important. If she ever gets lost at least I'll have a way to track her. Without it, you won't have much of a chance to find him/her. If the chip did happen to bother, you could always have it removed. I wouldn't give it a second thought. It will also give you some peace of mind. |
All my girls are chipped and have never had any problems, incuding my two pound Chihuahua. (she's since passed away) I highly suggest you do the same. If ever they get lost and taken to a Vet. or animal control, they will scan for the chip then call the owner. If no chip is found, the dog will be adopted out. |

None of my four have ever had a problem and I cannot feel their chips. My smallest is just over 5 pounds now, but was chipped at 2-3 lbs (with her spay). Roxy was chipped while awake (before her spay). She didn't even cry for the chip and she screams like a banshee during vaccinations. |

first thing I did when I knew we were moving from the boonies of SW Missouri to Las Vegas was to make an appointment to get Soph chipped. She was wide awake and didn't so much as flinch when they inserted the chip. Had Gulliver done when he was neutered this past September when he was 5 months old and 4 pounds. Neither of them have had any problem and the peace of mind it gives me is worth way more than what it cost to have them done. |
Bella got her chip at the same time as her rabies vaccine! I think it was about 20 weeks. She was around 3 pounds give or take, and she did not even flinch!! Easy peasy and no issues since. Jett will be getting his chip at the rabies, if he would ever get any bigger! (I want to wait until he hits 2 pounds or so before we do his rabies shot.) |
You will not regret it! |
My 12 week old yorkie is chipped and it doesnt bother her at all. |
:) poppy was chipped when she was 11 months old ;) she was asleep at the time being spayed :) the chip has never bothered her , she does not know its there ;) love jill n poppy xx :aimeeyork |
Thanks for all the info. I am definately going to go ahead and have her chipped as planned!! |
Various Manufacturers of Micro-Chip ID I need to do an "Add On" to my previous post... Just did a quick search on Manufacturers of these items.. There's more than Six as of today ! They are trying to keep the Frequencies to three... those being 125/128/134 kHz. This is going to be very difficult, given that Manufacturers outside the USA, are making these things, and "may" make Scanners which will read the presently "known" frequencies. SO, if you took anything that I have said, to mean not to ID that's NOT what I'm trying to do here ! It's a very good idea ! I just emphasize that you must know what Chip you have. Be ready to provide that (complete) information to a facility which may assist you in recovery or ID'ing you animal for any other reason, where they will know which Scanner to use, and or provide that information to another Facility. |
