Walmart selling puppies? Went to our Walmart a little while ago and saw a young girl and older man that had their tail down in their truck and standing by them were a couple of people. As I walked by I overheard her say, "OK, now which one do you want?" I looked over and the girl had about 3 or 4 puppies(looked like lab) out of this plastic tub. I could not tell how old they were. She was holding one for this other couple to see them. As I walked by I asked her if she was selling them, she said yes they were...not for long I told her. I went in and told the manager of the store what was going on in the parking lot. Well, needless to say when I left about 20 minutes later they were gone. I just could not believe these people were selling them in this manner. I felt so sorry for those babies! |

Unfortunately, that happens all the time at the Wally World's around here. :( |

That is sick thankfully that does not happen around hear we have really good security at our walmart Although a bunch of kids did release a guinea pig into the parking lot at a walmart to be squished, but my little sister saved it. |

They will only go to another parking lot to sell them. Lets just hope those puppies end up in loving home. One thing is good though and that is she's "selling" them. If she was giving them away, then that would be tragic for some of those babies. They would be sold to labs, and used as Pit bait. |

My sister bought her first lab out of the back of a pickup parked along a highway feeder road in Houston. He was only 5 1/2 months, no papers, and they paid $350. I have since schooled her on the idiocy of this move and she totally gets it. That dog is the most spoiled, well cared for dog out there. Point being, just because the people selling the puppies are ignorant hillbillies doesn't mean they won't go to a good home. My sister was just clueless about the best way to get a puppy, but they are great people! |

I remeber that! How is the little guy doing? |

Unfortunately that is so common around here. Not only at the Walmart, but the street the Walmart is on has a number of people on any given sunny weekend selling puppies on the side of the road. |

My niece in Tennessee bought a puppy in front of a walmart there. Luckily she has been healthy. She know has gone the rescue route and adopted a 7 month old cat from the pound a few months ago and yesterday adopted a 7 month old male cocker from the same kill shelter. I posted on her Facebook pics of the puppy thanking her for going the rescue route. |

At Christmas I talked with a lady selling Yorkies out of her truck at Walmart. It was below freezing and they were 6 weeks old. She told me her vet said it was ok for them to go. (not a vet I would trust!) I knew better but I had to see what she said. I was so mad. Poor little babies. |

That happens all the time here. Even the grocery stores. Usually free mixed pups. |

Yep, it happens ALL the time here and not just at WalMart and not just selling. More often, the have a sign saying "FREE". Parking lots, roadside fleamarkets, anywhere someone thinks they can get rid of their pups. |

That is pretty sad. El Paso county does not allow anyone to sell or give away the pets by the roadside, parking lot, etc. They need to have litter permit to sell pets. |

Before I got my Yorkies, I bought several dogs from roadside sellers. Never had any problems with them. It\'s very common here, no one thinks anything about selling/buying that way - Probably a "cultural" thing??? What one person thinks is unacceptable in one part of the country is quite the norm in another. north and south differences, etc. ...of course, \'roadside selling\' ---that\'s more for the \'big\' dogs, labs, dalmations, etc. I\'ve never seen a Yorkie or some little dog sold that way. And you can get papers with them. All our farm dogs growing up were roadside purchases...All lived long and pampered lives. No issues. These people provide dogs for people who want them. It may not be the way you or I would want to sell our puppies, but it may be their way. |

Az passed a law that you can\'t do that here anymore!!!! |
