Need some Advice please!!!! I have a 14 month old female Yorkie (maggie)...who is about maybe 4 lbs.... she already had her first period and her first heat.... looking to spay her asap.... I am looking into using the ASPCA Mobile Clinic... I'm just so afraid thought.. I have never used them before and I want to make sure that she will come out of the surgery and the anestesia.... Im just so nervous about the whole situation.. was wondering if anyone has ever used a mobile clinic from aspca before ? need some advice please... |
I've never used the mobile clinics, but I know in some areas they are very popular. One thing I would check is what type of anesthesia protocol they follow. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-protocol.html Some other things to investigate: Do they do pre-op blood work? What arrangements do they have if your dog needs extra help/care while coming out of anesthesia? (Do they have a vet clinic close by?) How about pain medications and follow up care? |
thanks for the info.... I have to find all that out .. before I do anything.. |
my savannah is 3.6lbs and we have a non profit place called rascal unit that does mobile vet clinics and spays. I took savannah in for her wellness check and they checked her as well to see if she could tolerate anesthetic. they have 4 wonderful vets on staff and I use them all the time for her care because my money that I pay goes back into helping animals. just a few weeks back they fixed a sugar glider I think it was 1lb or less I know laura was telling me about it. I actually trust them more than anywhere because of their experience. I won't have to use the mobile unit because the headquarters is 5 mins from my house so I just take her to the office. |
