To all pennsylvania members I am moving there from Louisiana in less than a week! I have lived here my whole life and I am TERRIFIED of y'alls winter! So the question I really need answered is: How bad is it REALLY? I really don't fancy becoming an Eskimo, and it was around 70-something here the past few days... I wore shorts and a tank to paint my bathroom yesterday... In and out all day, and it was GORGEOUS! Am I going to go into serious shock? ARE MY BABIES GOING TO HATE ME??? Also, of slightly lesser importance, we are moving to one of three cities: Honesdale, Union Dale, or Carbondale (you have an awful lot of "-dales" up there, lol.) In anyone's humble opinion, which is the more desirable location? Any information is greatly appreciated... Because, come Monday, we are really going to need a place to live!!! |
JMO, I think that Pa is a beautiful state. I live between Reading and Philly. Winters can be beautiful , But Im over it!!! Way ready for spring!! Some parts of the state are worse than others in winter. Thing is I've lived in Pa all my life, so I really don't know any different. Good luck. |
Well, that's exciting! I'm just glad you're moving in the Spring, to give your babies time to get used to the cold weather next winter...By the time it gets really cold in PA, your babies will have grown thicker coats, than if they were down South...Good timin' for the babes :D |
well we'll be glad to have you in PA. I'm about 320 miles west and just a little north of where you'll be (I'm in Erie - right on the lake) so I'm not real familiar with the weather in all the "dales". I think its just one of those things that changes - one year we'll have a lot of snow the next not so much. My daughter lives in Pittsburgh (about 2.5 hours south of me) and if they get 10-12 inches it's a state of emergency which for us is not such a big deal. I have family that moved to AZ and then moved back as they missed the "seasons". I think that the beautiful falls that we have here make up for the not so nice winters. Good luck in your move - can't wait to hear which "dale" you chose! |
