I wasn't trying to disagree with the OP or to be rude to her, I was just showing her that this story has been proven a false hoax many times over the years. :thumbdown If she chooses to believe it and continue spreading rumors that's her business. |
How Rude! if anyone is a D****ss it is you for believing such claptrap. Hmmm wanna buy the Neiman Marcus cookie recipe for $250???? |
So just what is the "compound which is one molecule away from ethylene glycol."? Got a chemical name so that this can be verified? |
Oh - and I have been using the Swiffer Wet Jet for several years now, and none of my Yorkies has ever had a problem from its use. |

Cleaning Ironman, we too use the shark steamer/cleaner thingy and like you live in an area with awful water (SanDiego) and I use 50/50 old fashioned white vinegar and water. I steam my tile floors w/the distilled water in the machine, then clean them with the 50/50. I am one of the germ a phoebe persons so the super cleaning, sterilizing part of the vinegar w/out the chemicals appeals to me. I learned about the vinegar in the Air Force along w/many other el cheapo cleaning things  Yes at first it takes a couple of times to clean up the residue off the tile, BUT then it's done and once a month, TA DA. For little spot "accidents" my old swifter with a new and improved head cover, one I crocheted myself, a little 50/50, spot up, wash the cover. I don't worry about chemicals. We are all as careful as we can be about the things that impact our little people. |

The Snopes link has another embedded link from the manufacturer, which the original poster failed to discover (I guess). I will paste that here: Safe for animals? Still concerned? Try googling it and doing more (just about any, actually) web research instead of calling people names. :thumbdown |
I really cant believe you are going on with this. I didnt see anyone call you a liar the info you posted is a hoax and its been posted on here many times and when it is it only serves to scare some members unnecessarily. Your vile language is unnecessary to and its only going to get you suspended or banned |
If you don't like snopes or mythbusters, here is another. Swiffer Wetjet Pet Death Email Rumour I guess they are all in a big conspiracy to kill our pets. This "friend" forwarded you a hoax email that has been going around for years. If this was a true danger to our pets, we would have known of it long ago. When the melamine made it's way into our dog food, it didn't take long before vets and other experts started putting two an two together and found out the truth behind what is going on. Once again, Bless your heart. And go ahead and call me any name you want, I will consider it a badge of honor. |
