Scare of y life tonight!!!!
 
The neighbors came over tonight and one of the guys came in through the back gate. Both me and dh asked him if he'd shut it all the way and he said YES to both of us.

We let the pups out later that night after everyone had left and after a few minutes DH went to let them in and all of a sudden we both freaked out. they'd been out too long to still be in the yard and he ran out in the yard and the gate was WIDE OPEN....

we ran out front freaking out calling the dogs over and over, i was even barefoot. Finally i saw Bentley on the side of the house and as i finally caught a glimpse of him sadie came flying at me full sprint in respond to my COME SADIE....

WHEW thank God no cars were near and they never left our side yard!!

SCARED THE HELL OUTTA ME!!! No more going anywhere without me right there with collars on them both and us out with them both. And never trust that someone shut ur gate NEVER.

OMG thank goodness they came when you called them. I am super paranoid about gates, doors, etc. Mine have collars on them at all times, except when being bathed. Whew, glad that was just a scare and nothing worse.

i had a heart attack. i was running on my front walk screaming and the neighbor guy across the street was like no i haven't seen em' (he wasn't the same one that left the gate open) it was horrifying i just knew they were long gone for good.

On no, this is terrible. I'm glad that they were there and had not wondered off.

I think I would tell the guy NO the gate wasn't closed.

That is SO scary!

A few months ago, I remember letting the dogs out in the fence at my dads house and it's a pretty large fenced in yard, we have 3 different gates to get in/out. Well one of them had blown open and just as I opened the door and let all 3 dogs out, I saw the big gate (that could let a truck fit in the yard) blow open and I was like oh crap. Well the only one who darted was Lily, their JRT, luckily we got Buddy and Jackson inside and went and caught Lily, but it's so scary.

Whew! Rachel, I'm so glad you found the babies that fast. My heart was pounding just thinking about what could've been.

Give your neighbor a lesson in how to CLOSE gates. :p

Yikes that would make my heart stop, Please put a lock on back gate that way you know for sure. Passes you a coffee

Ive ran into that problem with our gate also so I just always go out and maKE sure its shut

This is why I never let Gatsby out alone even for a second Even in a fenced in yard I put him on a 30 foot lead. he has plenty of room to run and play but he cant dart out from under me and get hit by a car or taken.

sooo glad they are safe and sound, my heart was racing just reading about it. It doesn't take much for our animals to wander they can do it within a blink of an eye. I bet you are still hugging and kissing them!:animal-pa
