Teddy bear face or baby doll face? What is the difference? Can you tell by pictures which one Marley is? |
The avatar isn't that clear but I'd say maybe a cross between a teddy bear face and a fox face (point-ier nose) Cute as can be...hmm, cute as a button...a 'button face' But seriously, where did that saying come from...how cute is a button anyway? Or the 'cute as a muffin' ---- well, I suppose a double chocolate muffin with chocolate chips and a fudge filling would be pretty cute...especially right about now. Sorry, I'm craving chocolate. You have a very sweet looking little Yorkie there. |

I can't tell...but your babies PRECIOUS! That much I can see! |
I looked at the pictures in your album and Marley is adorable. I wouldn't say it is what they call a baby doll. Maybe a teddy bear? |
I think (from what I've read on breeder's sites) a doll face and teddy bear are the same meaning-has a flat round nose and otherwise it is the standard "pointier" snout...anyone here really breed to standards; know the technical terms for all this (?) and/or weather there is a conformity issue on the snout formation...like something in AKC show standards? I looked on the site about breed standard and have never seen anything about it myself have really wondered as I prefer the flatter shorter snout but noticed a lot of show dogs have the longer pointier snout...I have noticed shorter nosed Yorkies seem to have wider heads and the longer snout Yorkies seem to have smaller heads too. Personally I can't tell from you pics the pup cut makes it a bit deceiving to see facial bone structure. |
Thank you! I know there is something called "fox face" as well...I guess it is kind of hard to tell how big their snout will be when they are young.. |
I don't think these terms have actual definitions. Certainly not through YTCA or AKC. I think of them as marketing terms breeders use to draw buyers in because certain terms - cobby, doll face, tea cup, teddy bear, etc. - have erroneously become synonymous with "desirable," "special," "rare," "quality," etc., which then "justifies" charging more. |
Oh, and BTW, Marley is too cute for words!:) |

And MyLil Rose I forgot to say either/or, you have a lil cutie on your hands:thumbup:...I often refer to my Elvis as having a Wookie face;)...not sure that marketing term will ever catch on though...maybe Ewok faced Yorkies will be the next marketing term...sounds cute to me until I think about pug nasal issues  (i.e. brachycephalic dogs). |
