The Commandments for a Responsible Pet Owner This has been around awhile... but worth reading The Commandments for a Responsible Pet Owner My life is likely to last 10 to15 years. Any separation from you will be very painful. Give me time to understand what you want of me. Place your trust in me - it is crucial for my well being. Don't be angry with me for long, and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment. I have only your voice when it is speaking to me Be aware that however you treat me I'll never forget it. Before you hit me, remember that I have teeth that could crush the bones in your hand, but I choose not to bit you. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I've bee our in the sun too long , or my heart my be getting old and weak. Take care of me when I get old, You too will grow old. Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say "I can't bear to watch it" or, "Let it happen in my absence" Everything is easier for me if you are there. Remember, I Love You |
This always makes me sad... I think of all the poor animals out there who are abused and abandoned and only want love :( Makes me want to love on my babies even more than I do... |
A while ago, I had the opportunity to discuss one's commitment to his animals. I was sorry to read that not all who were in dicussion there, thought as I, when it comes to their protection. But, it gave me a direction and cause, to think of where I stood in an issue of their safety, or need, in a case of fear. Here's what I came up with. I, will be the first, to come to my Dog’s aid. I, will pick him up, or hold him, without worry for my personal jeopardy. I, will nurture and support him, until he is himself again. I, will willingly step in harm’s way, each and any time he needs me, as he would, and has for me. Ten are not enough... we are their World. Have a good Day ! :) S.W. |
yes....me too:p |
Aww that is so cute :) |
Yes, It makes me sad for all the poor dogs that are being abused by owners, or are all alone in the world with no one to love or care for them :( |
I love this! Nearly brought me to tears because so many people are bad pet owners. I especially love the last line. I would never let my baby out of my sight if possible when he is going through something difficult at the vet. |
I love this so much and it makes me tear up to think of all the animals that aren't loved and cared for by so many horrible pet owners or breeders :( I might just give little Oliver more hugs today!!! |
Yes it did bring tears to my eyes. All those poor babies out there that are neglected. |

Lil Sis, Thank you for your very kind gesture. HA, I think my Male Yorkie Sneakers and I have something in common... We're both Obsessively Compulsive about the other's welfare :D Have a good Day ! :) S.W. |
