lol--- some of the palmetto bugs here are as big as my little Remy and they FLY!!!!!!!!!

Wish the tourists/snow birds realized how important this is around here! It tans my hide to see someone on the dock at the lake close to our house throwing lunch meat or other things into the water. Our doxie loves to chase fish, and we can't let him do that here. He's our gator bait!

That is frightening! Could you imagine what would happen if your fierce little Yorkie got tangled up with a gator? You wouldn't have enough gator left over to make a decent pair of [COLOR=green !important][COLOR=green !important]boots[/COLOR][/COLOR]:eek:
That is so true....these little guys think they are bullet proof. Muffin is constantly picking on the other dogs at my home, all of which are huge compared to her!

I know which one I would pick....but of course I already live in NY :rolleyes:
but Florida with gators, pythons, giant spiders and bugs....I will take snow anyday. :D

You choose. I can pay to have someone shovel the snow!

I'll still stick with Illinois but continue to enjoy visiting my family in Florida.

Oh wait! let me add snow birds to my Florida list. ;) My son and I were walking in a mall one day and there were two of them glaring at me (according to my son.) We both think that they thought I was a cougar! LOL And do I have to mention the Bush/Gore hanging chad fiasco?:eek:

Oh wait- I can add real cougars to my Florida list too!!!!!:p

That is freaking scary. I am glad I don't live in Florida anymore although the storms were awesome. Seems like those gators were always out in peoples backyards, schools etc during breeding season. Since you live in S. Florida I hope you watch out for those Burmese Pythons that are wild and their population is expanding.

Ewww I hated the palmetto bugs. I just look at them like over grown roaches.

palmetto bugs - I've never had one in my house. I think they might be southern Fl's issue?
scorpions - also never seen one!
coral snakes - Garden ho/shovel. ;)
fire ants - again...touche
gaters - they keep to themselves, unless the snowbirds feed them.
pythons - eek!
banana spiders - I live in the city, so these aren't a prob. I grew up in the groves though, and I can say, do NOT ride a 4-wheeler between rows of orange trees in the morning!! ;)

Hahaha...I am such a wimp about the cold!! We go to Ga around the holidays and I am always miserable. I've never seen snow!

I'll take the beach and year-round flip flops. :)

Hahaha...snowbirds are on the top of my Fl list! I'm in serious danger of stroking out everytime I get behind the wheel during the winter here. They HAVE to know that not everyone here is on vacation! :p

OMG if one more person makes a "Floridians don't know how to vote" joke! ;):p

The great thing about snow, besides the beauty of it is that every once in a while you can call off work by telling your boss you are snowed in or the road in front of your house hasn't been plowed yet!!!!:D To say nothing about racing down a hill on a sled or cross country skying.

That is what they are: American Cockroaches

Here in TX they call them what they are...roaches. Fl gave them that glorified name...nothing but cockroaches.

BUT...I would still rather live in FL or TX than IL. They have bugs and snakes, too!

Here in the Houston area, we have pretty much the same climate as FL and the same critters....beats the heck out of the cold winters up north!
