zowi & pixie dentals coming up wednesday pls send advice and prayers!
 

so my 2 beautiful babies and i made the 30 mile each way trip to our beloved vet of many years yesterday for pre op bloodwork and to discuss the upcoming dentals. putting my babies under has always been so nerve- wrecking!!!! something you do not want to do but know it will benefit them in the long run and must be done to ensure thier health!

we had complete bloodwork done and it came back perfect for both my little girls, we will have an ecg done the day of surgery, they will have iv fluids (and sugars) throughout the procedures, and our vet uses only human grade anestesia. she said she will also keep them together as much as possible while they are away from me. it has been 2 years since zowi had her last dental, we have them done every 2 years in february when my vet's office has dental special month.

**** is there any other precautions that i could take? ****

pixie is a little over 8 months now and weighs 3.2 pounds, and is retaining several baby teeth. i adopted her from a humane society who had already spayed her at 4 months old, so this will be the poor little things second time under anestesia in her short life. :(

zowi just turned 10 years old in january weighs 10.6 pounds and is in need of a cleaning.

withing you and your pups the best. Our Yorkie had her teeth cleaned today at almost 14, as well as a limp removed from her chest. We will soon be heading over to pick her up. No soubt yours will do great.

I just had my Lizzie put under the other day to have CT Scan and she is 14 and did just great,.

thanks again everyone! we dropped them off at about 730am this morning and the house is so empty and quiet without them! :( i cant wait to pick them up with thier bright clean smiles!

My thoughts and prayers go out to them! I understand the nerve racking as my Oliver will be put under this Friday for his neuter, which is ROUTINE procedure, but still makes me a nervous mommy!! Keep us updated on how they do!! :)

my 2 beautiful girls are home from thier procedures! the house was so empty without them yesterday.... i missed them terribly! everything went pretty well. pixie had several baby teeth removed, zowi ended up getting one tooth pulled. yikes. didnt want that to happen, but she is 10 years old. looks like she might need her dental every year now instead of every 2. mommy will try even harder to brush thier teeth more and keep them clean and sparkling! both came home very sleepy and dopey so we cuddled up and went to bed early. we will be starting antibiotics and pain meds today and taking it easy for the next few days. i'm so happy they're home and all went well! thank you everyone for your well wishes! the girls & i appreciate it so much! :D

I want Lisaly to adopt me. She is a terrific person, and just so nice and thoughtful.

i will say some prayers the surgery is soon and all goes well! our little angels will always have that special place in our hearts. i imagine what it would be like having all 3 of my girls together because i know nika is with us in spirit. thanks for understanding and kind words as always!
