Yorkie biting HARD. Please help. Hi, My dog has recently caught a really bad behavior. Whenever someone rings the doorbell, my dog would bark nervously, approach anyone near the doorway, jump and bite aggressively with his teeth leaving some bruises.. If someone tries to pick him up, he would aggressively swing his head and bite whatever he could. Someone my dog knows or not, he'll still do this same behavior. He used to just bark and jump whenever the doorbell rings, now he BITES really hard. How can I stop this behavior?? Also, whenever I walk him, he's always nervous about going outside. How do I make him less nervous? |
Sounds like you need to do some training. Get some super great treats, then give him a spot to sit out of the way of the door. Teach him to sit there when you say a command. Then start introducing the door bell, say the command and give a treat. If you can get someone to play along and come in the house after ringing the door bell that would be great. The behavior needs to stop even though he is little he needs to have the same rules as a big dog NO BITING. It may take some time but stick with it and you'll have a dog everyone enjoys! Good luck |
