Our Trip to the Groomer 2 Attachment(s) Part I - The Drop Off I woke up. They knew something was going on because I got dressed:p Into the car and off we went. They were good. Cooper sat nicely and Max only barked a couple of times. I was so pleased! I knew this part would be decent but it was the next part I was dreading. Perhaps they knew. Yes, I'm sure they knew. We got to the parking lot. I whispered to Cooper "you are getting your haircut". I don't know why I did it but it was at that point that all hell broke loose. I opened Max's car door and pulled him out. He began his alert barking as soon as his feet hit the floor. Together we got Cooper and began the journey to the front door. And what a journey that was! I don't remember the front door being miles from the parking lot. Pulling and tugging and barking and yelling and twisting and turning and pulling and barking. I'm fairly certain the groomer knew we had arrived. After what seemed like an eternity we arrived at the front door. I wanted to drop them off and run (literally), but I couldn't because I had very detailed instructions this time. After all, I didn't really want that lamb haircut Cooper got in the past. There were customers leaving and when I opened the door they said "WHOA, calm down little fellas". Cooper wanted to be held and Max wanted everyone to know we had arrived. They both peed in the entrance way and Max managed to aim right for my shoe. This was pretty much what I expected. The customer had to step over puddles. Max didn't stop barking. They were put in a kennel together. I had to yell to the groomer what I wanted done with them and it was pretty much CUT NOTHING, TRIM NAILS, EXPRESS THEM. The groomer walked over to the side and grabbed an empty paint can full of rocks. She shook it. I'm surprised Cooper didn't have a heart attack because he's familiar with a bottle filled with coins. Max hushed in about 5 minutes. I left. Part II - The Pick Up I received the call that I was so anxiously waiting for. They were done. I had mixed feelings because boy did I miss them and OMG I don't want to do this again. I arrived at the groomer. Oh how sweet they looked. She almost listened to me this time. One at a time they came out of the kennel and an assistant had to help me get the Buddy Belts on them. I paid and left. The trip back to the car was as long as the initial trip to the front door. I put Cooper in the car. We were almost free. But noooooooo.... I had forgotten their collars at the front counter. We had to do the walk once again. When we all entered back inside the groomer said "by the way Karen, Max didn't bark the entire time but just started again when you picked him up". We got home. I went to Lowe's to get an empty paint can. Our little family is a work in progress. I spend at least 1/2 hour per day training them and we are making progress. They may not be the type of dogs that I can take everywhere with me, at least not now but they sure are the perfect little companions. I couldn't imagine life without them. And if you are curious here are the end results (i'm trying to grow them out): Attachment 337464 Attachment 337465 |
Oh my! What a day!! They look darling though! |
Ohhh Karen...i'm so sorry..but i laughed and laughed at your post!! Dont feel bad..i think we've all been in some sort of situation like that before. When I take Pasquale to the groomers..i TRY to get him to pee outside before he goes in...Nope..not having it! Then when we do go in...he pee's on the groomers dog statue LoL . I feel your pain! |
Glad you enjoyed your trip to the groomer. :D I love the part about having to yell your instructions to the groomer, lol. Apparently it worked because the boys are adorable! They even have matching topknots. I love that Max has a smile to rival Cooper's classic in the second picture. :) |
that is so funny.... you write a good picture!! I have the same problem... pulling and tugging!! Sadly Bailey does no 2 (bigger dog bigger poop) when he gets scared:eek: |
Have you tried putting them in carriers and taking them in this way? I take mine in a dual carrier, this way they are quiet and there is no hassle getting in, it allows me to speak with the groomer in peace as well. When I come to get them she has them all ready back in the bag for me also! |
They both look adorable Karen! They look like they could be related... I can't believe that Max is officially bigger than Coop. I love their matching top knots :thumbup: |
LOL!!! Fantastic story writing skills. I pictured it all in my head. Cooper looks so different with longer hair! Max looks great. They both look very handsome. |
This was the great story of the day and literally made my day...since we went to the groomer also! I laughed the whole time. You painted such a perfect picture. Your baby is such a big boy now; I can't believe it. |
I LOVED your story!!! It was so funny!!! I could feel your pain!! lol They look great!! |
LOL:p I LOVED your story. Hilarious. Thanks for the laugh. Your babies are adorable. |
AWWW they look so cute with their new hair do's. I love the top knot's on both of them. I was laughing at your story of the Part 1 Drop Off. |
Oh, my! What handsome boys you have! What a great story you painted! Priceless! |
