I think I "broke" my dog ... lol training mess up So we've been in puppy class, and at the end of each class the instructor tells us how to do a trick. Well today we started play dead. So we use "bang" and a hand signal of a gun:eek:, for the play dead cue. she told us to say "bang" make the gun then have them down and lure them onto their sides. Well Harley picked it up later on tonight, but then I switched back to regular down... and well now he's going into a half "bang" and half "down" :rolleyes: Silly puppy. Just had to share. I've had a crappy night/day and well Harley just about made me die of laughter, when I said "down" and his back end flopped into a play dead and he sat up on his elbows so proud. :p |
That is so funny. I know what you mean, they can really get you laughing if your dog trick patience hangs in there. My Yorkie Heidi does tricks too, and for several weeks now I've been trying to teach her "Look like a lady" and she crosses her front legs. Finally, she is getting the idea of it and she's done it 3 times correctly. Now all the sudden she'll play dead on her side and then cross her front legs real fast. Its so comical. Its almost hard to correct her cause she just looks so cute and she made such an effort to try to get those front legs crossed! |
yeah today in class he had me in hysterics for a while. I brought his octagonal play pen, cause we're teaching them to lay in their beds. And he wouldn't stop jumping up the wall, well he got so excited he landed on the wall of the pen front end out, back end in... and look super confused. He also tried to exit the pen a few times, so fast that he ran into the wall rather than the door. we had an unproductive but comical class. |

I think that is so funny. It does show that Harley is a thinker and trying to offer the trick that will get him the reward. Smart boy! |
That's hilarious :) My puppy can't tell the difference between me and a Buster Cube. If I have treats, he goes through every trick he knows hoping one will earn him a treat. He does the SAME THING to his Buster Cube instead of rolling it like he's supposed to! It's hilarious to watch him roll 3 times quickly, hoping the Buster Cube will give him a treat! |
