Morgan doesn't need defending - she is and always will be a beautiful dog. Not everyone has an eye for fashion. :)

:eek:That's gone too far! An opinion is fine but to insult someone's family member is disgusting. Many things on YT could be called ridiculous to someone, but when on a forum called YT, respect is to be expected. How many people put pajamas, dresses or tuxedos. Weird to some, normal for others. People on this forum love their pups, spend time with them and enjoy them. I find what you said to be insulting and ridiculous - think before you type! I for one, loved Morgan's dye job, mine are both to dark right now to colour, but if they lighten up I'll be reaching for the kool-aid! Two thumbs up Morgan!!!!:thumbup::thumbup:

Don't worry -- the only thing looking "ridiculous" in this thread is the post where someone is being directly rude to a yorkie! Seems to be a trend she has started. When one of her other posts was not answered immediately, she called another person's dog "nasty" when her owner was merely asking what to do about greasy-looking, stringy hair. So now she has called one dog nasty and another ridiculous. Hmmmmmm...... I guess some never learned to criticize (if one HAS to criticize at all) the behavior and not the person (or in this case: pup). :(

Morgan is a sweet looking yorkie in any color! I love her name too. One of my son's classmates is named Morgan and she is an intelligent, athletic, tall, lean, good-looking gal who rides horses & surfs. So the name always makes me think of class.

I looked up the MSDS sheets on some dyes and on some shampoos, conditioners, sprays, etc. You can find the same cautions on each category. anyway, my point is, everything has the potential to cause harm if used improperly. Be safe, read directions, spot test, and watch your pets reaction. If they don't like it, don't do it.
If the clothes are matting the hair and or causing the skin to be irritated they can be taken off and then problem is solved. If you dye the dog and they get a rash even after washing the dog they might require a vet visit, creams, and things that will stop them from messing with the rash

The people that are against clothes on dogs probably aren't dog people or havent had to see a dog that is actually cold sitting there shaking. My dad and grandpa and even my mom thought clothes where stupid until Callie and they saw her shaking when she was cold. At least clothes have a purpose dye doesn't.

I am not necessarily for dyeing dogs but that comment was rude. Plus with that face she could have been green and still been precious :)

Sure, some clothes have purpose, but plenty of them don't. And that's fine. I just bought a tuxedo for Thor's debut at the Valentine's Day ball. I have an armoire for him, for heaven's sake.

I know that I take great care of Thor. I take his health seriously, as well as his physical, emotional and mental needs. At the same time, I don't need to pretend to myself that everything I do for Thor is strictly practical. Top knots, or long coats, for example: these are for our pleasure, not our dogs.

Callie has armoire too and its probably the biggest and nicest piece of furniture in my room lol :D.

It is interesting to hear all people's opinions. Groomers who competed in color grooming competitions received negative comments from the media last year. A groomer, Sandy Blackburn had to deal with negative comments because she dyed her poodles. Dawn Omboy aka Queen of Color does beautiful job on coloring her poodles. She uses bleaching (that you use for your hair) on black coat before coloring it. May be harsh on the coat but she doesn't let the chemical touch the skin. Many years ago, I dyed my poodle with kool aid & it worked very well. It took a while for her coat to return to original color. The groomers' dogs including my dog loved the extra attention from the people. :)
I understand that some dogs have sensitive skin & should consider carefully before doing anything to hair/skin. OP, have fun & post the picture if you dye your dog.

good point.. but I am glad you STATED what i was THINKING.. I try to be too nice -- I did jump in and defend by saying "cool it" but you guys just put it out there.. I am glad:D

I don't like people who are narrow in opinion-- they think they are right and thats that!! Life is not just black and white... there are many shades of gray...and I respect all of them (not agree--respect)

Wow that is a really unfair comment to make.
Personally I wouldn't dye Poppy's hair, it's just not for me. But that dosn't give me the right to attack people who do dye their dog's hair, nor would I want to attack them for it. If dying the dogs hair does not harm the dog then who are we to judge?
I like putting clothes on Poppy, some people may think she looks ridiculous but that is their opinion. Poppy dosn't mind wearing clothes and they do not harm her so it is nobodies business but my own IMO.
I think the yorkie looked really cute with her hair dyed, and it was for Halloween I believe and not a permenant thing. So what's the problem?
I think we should remember the old saying 'If you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all.'

I think dying a dog is just crazy!! Why use chemicals, whether safe or not on our babies?? What if your dog had a reaction to the SAFE chemicals???

Are you planning on showing this dog? Just curious if it is even allowed in dog shows to color your dog. I wouldn't think so but I have no idea. There is a pure paws you tube video that might help you see how they color.
