Just wondering if your girl has settled down at all? Maybe she'll calm down and settle in a little over a good night of rest. |
I've just been thinking about your lil girl. She is just a very scared lil girl and she has to learn to trust you. I hope you send a post soon to let us all know how she is doing :( :aimeeyork |
I hope she is doing better today! Please keep us posted! |
I agreed, Lily is very scared cause she is in a new home. I think she needs time to adjust. If you decide she is not a match for your family please find her a good home, dont return her to the kennel. Please keep us posted. |
I have different thoughts than most already expressed. That little thing should not be in a home where she is treated like a puppy machine ie: her former home. Nor should she be in a home where 1) hubby does not want her; 2) inexperienced or unprepaired caretaker is responsible. This situation has to be so hard on all concerned BUT our concern is the best for this dog. Keeping her crated is not much different than home #1 except maybe she is in the house now and not exposed to the elements. My point is that accordung to your posts, this dog should be in at least more home more appropriate for her needs and uniqueness. Your home cannot offer that. The breeder WILL not offer that. Bottom line is that she needs a home where she will be understood, trained, and accepted as she is. With lots of love and time and caring, she can have a good life as long as she lives. I am not dissing you! I do not know you only from your posts. You have already stated you realize you took her on impulse and that is one of the worst ways to make a choice of a pet. Research other breeds intensively and make a batter choice for a 10-15 year commitment with your pet.. If I have offended anyone, it was not my intent, but I did intend to speak truthfully and respond to what I read in this post..I hope that little girl gets all of the love, caring and training she deserves. |

Hi Amy, Wondering how Lily is doing... How did the night go? If you think you can't keep her (& I don't think anyone here would blame you for that), I think the best thing to do would be to contact a rescue organization. If there is a Yorkie rescue in NC, that would probably be best, but any rescue would work. It sounds like this poor pup needs some serious rehab work before she finds a forever home! PS. I completely understand taking her home on impulse. I've certainly done it before (actually more times than not). We get that maternal need for a baby thing going and it just takes over. Don't feel too bad. Lesson learned. |
