I'm a newbie, too . . . My name is Jen and I have a Yorkie baby named Buddy. He will be 5 months old this coming Saturday (2/5). Potty training is going fairly well, but will he EVER CALM DOWN? Our vet won't neuter him until he's at least 6 months old and I'm hoping that his other testicle will drop between now and then! Otherwise, the job will be SUPER expensive! Buddy is actually our 2nd yorkie pup . . . the first was named Duchess and we only had her for about 2 weeks. She was fine for the first week and then starting showing signs of a liver shunt. Several hypoglycemic episodes in only 3 days. Thankfully the breeder took her back, gave us a refund and reimbursed me for all of the very expensive vet bills! Otherwise, we wouldn't have Buddy now! I'm hoping to make some new friends and learn how to teach Buddy to be a great family pet!:) |
Welcome to you and Buddy. Your very lucky the breeder took her back and refunded you all the money you paid for her and her Vet. bills. That's rare!! Hope to meet Buddy real soon. |
Thanks! I didn't ask for the vet bills back right away. I wrote him a letter about a month later and he didn't send a reply, just a check! I was worried due to all of the bad press about amish puppy mills! I guess he was a good guy after all!:) |
Welcome Buddy lets see some pictures of Buddy |
Here he is . . . this is my daughter, Ashley, with him. http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...IMG_0013_1.jpg |
Dinky had an undescended testicle also. I'm happy to say that it came down in time for the neutering. He was about 7 and a half months old when he had it done. Prior to the neutering, he was humping his toys pretty frequently, and it turns out that this is supposed to help the testicle descend. (I found this info somewhere on a Yorkie Forum thread.) Good luck with your gorgeous pup. He looks like a sweetie. |
Welcome!! He is a cutie patootie! |
