I started out feeding Samson Eukanuba but after doing a lot of research I found that it is not that great of a food and there are a lot of better ones out there. It is better than other regular store brands but not as good as premium foods that you can buy elsewhere. Also Eukanuba is made by the same company as Iams and there has been a lot of info. on here about that company using animals for research and testing, and not in a good way.

Chicken Soup dry food. and Ceasers wet food (he loves it)

I've been doing alot of research & had it narrowed to 3-Chicken Soup, Wellness, & Canidae. I decided on Chicken Soup, but when I went to the pet store to buy it, they told me they don't carry the puppy version, which is what I needed. And they are the only store in the 316 are code that sells it. So, I decided to go for Wellness. And the lady told me that that food was much better anyway. That it had been rated #1 in some dog magazine for the past 3 yrs as the best natural food out there. So, now I'm glad they didn't carry puppy, so I had to choose this one instead! :p

they are on Eukenuba right now (with me not nkowing about the whole animal testing/researching thing) and due to what I've read, they will be changing here shortly before they run out. (they do good on the food and Daphne has been on it her whole life and loves it, but Im upset at how they do their business and animals and don't want to support it)

Thats all my Yorkie and Shih tzu will eat. I give them a little dry of that dry food made for Shih tzu's. Don't remeber the name..ha ha ha

we feed Luna Innova EVO we tried so many foods before we found one she would eat i am just glad its good for her

Now everybody has to listen to my P&G rant....
Iams and Eukanuba are both produced by Procter & Gamble... Along with 75% of the other household products you probably own. (Check the labels, I'm sure everybody has at least 10 products in their house manufactured by them). I'm not a huge fan of either food, although I do know a couple dogs that have eaten it their whole life and have done very well on it. The fact that they make my makeup, shampoo, air freshener, laundry products, etc along with dog food makes me nervous. Not to mention, corn is almost always in the top three ingredients in their food. Also, they're big into animal testing (check out www.iamscruelty.com). I'd prefer to keep my money from funding this kind of inhame cruelty.... (I won't spend $$ on the food at least, can't live without the makeup & shampoo LOL)

Pixie is getting the Mini Puppy 33 made by Royal Canin. Once she's old enough, I'll switch her over to the Yorkshire 28. All my cats (except for the one that needs a prescription diet) are fed Sensible Choice, which is another brand made by Royal Canin. All my animals have done well on their foods... But this is not to say yours will do well also.There isn't one food that's perfect for every dog. I try to pick a food I think will work for her, but in the end, it's up to Pixie whether she eats it or not!

I would like to try the Natural Blend food (again, a Royal Canin product)... There's no corn in it at all, and I guess you could almost call it "holistic". It has things like apples, blueberries & spinash in it. Check out http://www.naturalblend.com/SCHDNBA.HTM
What does everyone else think of this one?

Both of my dogs eat Ceasars and only the red foil beef. I have tried about 7 other foods, I just donated them to a local shelter, neither will eat any other dog food. I also spray their food with a salmon and vitamin oil. My pom has a beautiful coat and good health but bad teeth. I am going to try cali on some hard mixed in her wet again and see if she will eat it now.

I find Lil Caesars everywhere. The grocery store,meijers, super Walmart etc.

Tiger eats Chicken Soup dry (puppy formula). I want to try him on the wet, but haven't yet. He loves the Chicken Soup dry though.

My pup does not like Royal Canine, she turns her nose up at it. Right now she gets Nutro and wet Lil Cesars twice a day. She also gets cottage cheese, eggs and table food thrown in. She also has TP as an appetizer through out the day. I have to shut the doors to the bathroom or else we get TP'd all over the house. :aimeeyork :D

ps- she loves raw spinach and fruit too

I cant figure out what Baxter likes, he changes his mind every day. I have Euckanuba that the breeder gave us, Scisnce Diet that the Vet gave us and some Flint River Ranch dog food that a friend recomended. He dosent seem to like any of them all that much. Some days he'll eat all of his food and some days he wont touch it. I started mixing them together since I didnt notice him having a preference twards any one. Any ideas here, I kind of think he should be eating a little more regularly than he is. The one thing I know he loves to eat is the Nutri-Cal Paste. He'll do anything for that stuff. Sometimes I think he has figured out that if he dosent eat his kibble he will get that stuff.

The breeder give me a fairly large amount of dry food and instructed me to put it in a food processor, she said to then add some baby cereal to it and mix with water. (she is 6 weeks old)
Does this sound right? Is it okay to change the type of food for such a young pup?

My baby does not eat real food at all but when i tried Merrick's brand wet food, she likes it. it looks like human food and i guess it taste like too, as well

Did you have any problems with diarhea (sp?) when you started her on it? I'm trying to change Gypsy over to it (right now she's on ordinary Innova) because she really needs to gain a little weight. It seems to be a little too rich for her though (she certainly does love it though), it's making her stools very soft, black and runny. yuck! I'm wondering if I should keep trying or just try to find something else. Any ideas?

actually no it made hers more firm we have been very fortunate she has only had diarhea once since we have had her and thats cause my stupid in laws slipped her some human food but her stools are quite black after eating the evo

nutro natural choice
 

i use nutro natural choice with lamb and rice...i heard its great for the coat and petco happened to have it on sale and i wanted to switch to adult food (i think my girl is ready). Her coat is really cottony and this brand guarantees a substantial difference in coat after so many weeks of regular usage.

I feed Samson Innova Puppy and sometimes mix in a little Chicken Soup... for a little different flavor.
