HELP my yorkie is sick i just got a yorkie puppy about 3 days ago and today he started throwing up and he got wabbly and started shaking... its still going on. my bf mentioned that he got into the cat food earlier and im wondering if this could be a good reason? |
I don't know if the cat food would make him sick. Is he eating his dog food? Maybe his sugar is low. I would take him to the vet. Good luck! |

As always you should call your vet or check with an emergency vet in your area first. But...it does sound like it could be low blood sugar. Do you have any Nutrical on hand? If not, do you have any Kayro syrup? Give your puppy a little bit of this and it will help if it's low blood sugar. I would keep the cat food out of reach and make sure your puppy eats several small meals a day...keep food and water down for him at all times and make sure he eats. I hope he feels better soon. |
If you have a new, little puppy that is sick and vomiting; he needs to see a Vet immediately. I would say, yes, the cat food could have made him ill. These little ones dehydrate very quickly and can go down very quickly. Since you just brought him home; I'm assuming he is young and small. I would take him to a vet sooner rather than later. Please keep us posted on how he is doing. |

Hello -- How is the puppy????? What did the vet say? |
Checking for an update. |
You really should take him to the vet just to be on the safe side, these little ones can go down hill so fast its best not to take a chance with them. Good luck and I hope your pup gets better soon. |
how is he doing? |
