Puppy crack? Hi everyone, A trainer gave "puppy crack" to Teddy, which he absolutely LOVED. She couldn't remember the brand name of the treat (she said it started with the word Nature's) but she said it's in a long tube shape (like a sausage) and that you break off little pieces to give...I'm not sure if its a Tallahassee thing and no one has ever heard of this nickname before but I wanted to give it a try to see if anyone knows it so I can look up the nutritional information for it. |
The only treats I have heard of referred to as "puppy crack" are Yorkie Yummies. |
Maybe this is what she meant - it is made by Botanics. Petsmart.com - Dog: Sale: Pet Botanics Rolled Dog Food On package says you can break off pieces as a training reward or treat |

Also, yeah I think its something like that (the link you provided me) it was probably just a different brand (since she said it has the word nature in it)! |

I have the Natural Balance rolled treats. They are wonderful. I also use Red Barn rolled dog food. That's what we call puppy crack at the school I go to. Here's a link Amazon.com: Natural Balance Duck and Potato... Here's the Red Barn Amazon.com: Roll Dog Food, 4 Lbs Lamb: Home &... |
Yes, Natural Balance dog food rolls it is. My dogs won't eat their kibble until they get a little bit of puppy crack. They know in order for me to put their plates down, they need to sit. If I try to be lazy and bypass that and just put the plates on the floor, they won't eat it. I have to pick up the plates and wait for them to sit. Once they sit, I'll put the plates down and they will INHALE it. They don't chew it...I've seen it regurgitated. So I have to cut it in to tiny pieces. |

I don't remember what flavor Teddy tried in his classes, but I bought the lamb dog food roll to see how he likes it...also to the people who have bought yorkie yummies, what flavors did you buy? Teddy doesn't really like sweets so I don't think the honey carrot will be for him (I've given him carrot before and he doesn't really care for it) |
Zoe LOVES freeze-dried beef liver...and so do her cavalier brother and sister. It's like crack, too. And it is light, easy to break, not smelly...she's potty trained with it over the last week, and it's made all the difference in the world. |
