Where the Red Fern Grows I can't help but cry everytime I see this movie. |
I saw that movie when I was a child. Never forgot it either. One of the saddest movie's I have ever seen. |

It's so funny you mentioned this movie. I remembered it as a child and when I saw it just two weeks ago in the store, I had to buy it. I forgot about the hunting part all together, but remembered how sad it was. I wasn't allowed to have dogs when I was a kid, so any shows about dogs were pretty important to me. Thanks for the post! |
That was the first book I read when I was little that ever made me cry. I didn't like the movie as much but it was still really good. I just loved the book so much that nothing could compare!!! |
I've seen the old and the new version of the movie. Had to get a tissue!! |
when i was young I was convinced the book was cursed every time I read it something bad happened but I still read it once a year without fail until my copy fell apart and my mom refused to replace it. Darn! I think I'm heading to the library tonight now. |
Yhis was the saddest book I ever read. I Was young and remember sobbing on my grandmother's shoulder. She couldn't understand why I was so upset "over a book" I didn't see the movie, I do remember that my kids said they read it too and it had a profound effect on them too. thanks for posting this. |
My friend asked me to watch the movie about 10 years ago. Her golden retrievers were her babies; she had two at the time (male and female). About a year later the female gr died and soon after the male passed away too...the vet said it was because he missed the female. He changed after the death and you tell he didn't want to go on without her! So sad. My friend and her husband waited awhile, but they did get two more and they had babies...so cute. She is always afraid it will happen again. |
