I would like to introduce the Yorkie Gang!
 

Hi, My name is Cindy and I am allowed to live with 8 Wild and Crazy Yorkies, 1 that is a Yorkie Mix (Yorkie/chinese crested) and 1 silky. Each one of these little ones has a sad story to tell as I do Yorkie Rescue and they are the left overs but we don't care. We have a great time together and we just have to remember each one brings a little baggage with them. Some of them are biters, some of them are not housetrained (we are working on this but we have our moments), some couldn't live with the kids (got broken bones) some couldn't live with adults (were kicked or back crushed)some dumped in the backyard, some were dumped in the desert as their breeding days were over and some from the pound and we don't know their story. Life was tough for some of them but now we are just one big happy gang. :D

isn't it just awful what people will do to their pets (or other people)? the only thing they ask for is love. I just want to hug them all.

Okay everyone and I will go out on a limb and I don't mean to offend anyone here but are you nuts-trying to take a group picture with 10 dogs. You should see it on the weekend just trying to give everyone their baths and grooming! By the time I am on #5, #1 has already pushed his head into the pillow so his topknot is off to the side...It is a riot and I just laugh but none of the gang could ever win a beauty contest with me doing the grooming. I am down to only 5 with full coats and soon it could even be less as they take so much time.

Some one said I was sweet for doing rescue but it is not about being sweet, it is about saving my soul in my mind. I remember when I was a little girl (I am 55 now) and a woman got stabbed to death in NY (this could happen in any city so I am not picking on NY - great city) on a street with people all around and no one did anything to stop the man. I think he stabbed her 47 times. I have never gotten over the feeling that when we see wrong we must do something or we have lost our souls. Over my life I have never really felt that I have stepped up to the plate or given something back to this world. I never had children and most of my life has been working for a major automotive corporation in sales and I just felt that I needed to do something that wasn't about me and guess what, it still turned out to be about me. Nothing feels better than to look into the eyes of some of these little guys and to know that no one will harm them again. I can also tell you that if you ever went on a raid to a puppy miller you would be sick and very angry and hopefully also step up to the plate to stop what is going on with these animals. There are other sad stories of people dumping off their old yorkies to die all alone at animal control and I at least could be with them and holding them in my arms as they went to the rainbow bridge.

I am sure there will be times that I will get on my soapbox so be gently with me when I am out of line but remember I do it for the dogs and my soul.

I can already tell what a great addition you will be to this yorkie community called YT!! You must have some great stories. How did you find us?

I also get into "toruble" here sometimes for passionately standing up for what I believe in but all in all the members here are pretty forgiving and good about letting people express their opinions w/o taking it personally.

I think we will love having you and your gang join us and share a little yorkie love!!!

Welcome to YT! I too rescued Gage a few months ago from an individual who really should not own pets of any kind! It was very obvious when we got him that he had been abused, both physically and verbally. It has taken us a lot of patience working with him to let him know all we have for him is love (oh, and treats and food!!) and we are not going to hurt him. His personality is really starting to shine....so much so that Gabby, our 8 1/2 year old Yorkie, is becoming rather annoyed with him at times. He wants to play, she just wants to be left alone.

I'm an avid "lurker" here and have learned much from all the wonderful people who post here. I look forward to reading your posts as well!

:bravo: Welcome! It's wonderful to hear about happy endings and it sounds like your gang will all live happily ever after thanks to you. It would be even more wonderful if we could see some pics, even if it's only 1 at a time. Don't worry about them winning any beauty pageants, we think all yorkies are beautiful.
