peeing everywhere! O.K. Maybe he's pissed (no punt intended!) but Walker is lifting his leg on everything these days! Bedskirts, TV consoles, footstools, you name it....he pees on it. WHY? Is this attitude or is there something medically wrong here? We have three dogs and he's not left out or anything. His diet is the same, his environment is the same,..but it IS winter and our activity level is way down. Does anybody have something similar happen to them on YT? I have an appointment at the vet to check for kidney infection or any signs of a medical explanation. He's not loosing weight, he's not depressed or had any changes in his mood. But he pees.....and this has started maybe a few months ago. Maybe longer and I just didn't find the pee spots on the carpet! What to do???? |
Has he been neutered? Male dogs do like to mark there space. |
yeah, he's neutered. He's 3 yrs old now and has never done this before. At least, that I could tell. We added another yorkie in 2009 and they love each other! There is hardly any jealousy between them. This seemed to start this fall and maybe he's just sick of being cooped up because it's soooo cold outside. We play inside, but maybe not enough? Should I kennel him at night? I think, that's when he goes around lifting his leg... |
You may want to invest in a belly band till this is figured out. My male starts marking if he feels the girls are taking over. He has to remind them whose house it is! Usually some extra special attention calms him down... don't know if it's the same problem you're having though... :D PS: My male is neutered and just turned 14 Years old.. guess I'm happy he can still lift his leg! |
I have two bassets and I have the same problem in the winter which is why they are crated more in the winter. In the summer they go out to the back yard and stay out for hours. One thing though, I had a big problem with Cleo, one of my Bassets and it turned out she had a bladder infection although the vet thinks some of it was spite work. It's good that you made an appointment with the vet though, this way you know for sure. |
