Random Ear question lol
 
So my Rileys ears magically went up on his own today
He's 2 days shy of 10wks
Sounds odd but I prefer yorkies ears down. Does that mean
Now they r up, they'll stay up?
He's perfect the way he is. Just a odd preference am I
The only one? Lololol

That's not odd of you at all! I would say they might flop back down when he begins to teeth more. Ears are a tricky subject, as puppies they can be down one day and up the next.. Then down again! :rolleyes: my breeder said she had a lady buy a pup from her and the lady only wanted her to have floppy ears like her other yorkie. So she broke the cartilage in the pups ears so it would stay that way :eek: yikes! Lol but the breeder said the cartilage can get messed up when puppies play and cause the ears to be permentaly flopped. Anyway.. I'm sure either Way your babies ears turn out they will be adorable!! :D

Don't try that one at home. You could do serious harm and end up with no ears.

If you really want floppy ears, let the hair on the flap grow and it will probably weigh the ears down.

Oh no I would never. I can't imagine. Ouch! I just say let the ears do what they are gonna do.

I know you wouldn't, but I wanted to put that warning out there. Can't believe a breeder would do that, although I suppose others would argue that it isn't any worse than docking tails. However, the tails are docked in the first few days and it seems to me to be a much safer procedure.

ETA: I reread your post and see it was the owner, not the breeder who did it.

On a poor defenseless puppy. That's just wrong

Yea I've been growing his hair hoping they just fall naturally.
My Lil Mickey has floppy ears and my boy Johnny has one up n one down.
It's actually really cute on him. Think they call that a broken ear?
Guess having one with em up just evens it all out

Hes also the first bitter I've ever had, been strict with him hoping he grows out of it. The vet said just lightly close their nose n mouth n they'll get the hint after a while. Very sweet n loving tho, quite the mamas boy!
