Help! Bumps under Nipple, Vet is closed 1 Attachment(s) So, about 15 min ago I noticed the skin under Bri's lower nipple to be a little swollen. When I touched it, there were small little bumps that moved when I touched them. My vet is closed and I don't know what to do. I'm posting a picture, it doesn't really show anything on the outside, just small little bumps. Any ideas? I've got an email into my breeder who is very knowledgeable about yorkies, but I thought i'd ask here. |
Doesn't sound like an emergancy. Sometimes after a heat cycle this can happen. I would see the vet on Monday to ease your mind. PS..just saw the pic..looks normal to me. |
It does need to be checked out, but can wait until Monday. The same thing happened to Ellie (don't remember if hers were movable though). They went away after spay. The vet needs to take a look. |
Thanks. It's a tiny bit more swollen than the picture suggests. I'm just trying to rack my brain and figure out what it is. She has really bad allergies to vaccines but other than that she is healthy. We haven't spayed her yet due to these allergies, but this is the first time this has happened. I'm so upset I don't know what to do. |
Any bumps around the nipples (particularly the 4th and 5th - the ones closet to the back legs) of an unspayed female are a definite cause for concern. If spaying wouldn't have taken care of things for Ellie and they had gotten any bigger, we would have been looking at biopsy. For us thankfully it was just a hormone issue. How old is she? |

Please do not stress yourself out...I have never heard of a year old with cancerous breast tumors...it is most likely hormonal...best wishes |
She is so young. I would not expect it to be anything serious. If she was several years old, I'd worry. |
Thanks for the encouraging words. It's gone done since yesterday, but we'll be at the vet as soon as I get off work tomorrow! |
