Whining? So for the past couple of weeks anytime someone leaves my house Silver goes bonkers. She runs to the door runs to the windows and barks and cries. It seems like she thinks everyone is abandoning her. Like my nephews stayed the night last week and when they were out the door she went nuts like they just left her. Does anyone have any idea why she might be doing this? Also sorry if this is in the wrong thread section I wasn't to sure on where to put it. |
Aww, I bet she just wants to go too. My Boomer whines when I have to leave. I'm not sure what to do. I hear classical music help relieve stress. You could put the radio on during those transitions. Is she your only furbaby? Maybe a brother would take her mind off it. |
I don't have any advice but I sure can sympathize. Chloe goes completely nuts everytime we go near the door. She begins when we put our shoes on or start to get ready to leave. She knows our habits better than we do. We have tried everything, if you figure it out please let me know what you did that worked. Btw, we have two, I too thought this might help, never phased her. |
My maltese (RIP Casper) did that. I think he just liked having company! |
Do you have any Kongs? If so, fill it with her favorite treat and then spread cream cheese on top of the hole and freeze it. Then when you leave and only when you leave give it to her. She'll have something to work on while you're gone. You could make 2 or 3 of them to keep ready. There are many brain game toys for dogs that you can fill with treats and will keep her busy while your gone. |
Well see the thing is me or my roommate can remain home or even just me. But it's to the point where anyone who doesn't even live here leaves she cries. She jumps in the window seal and sits and looks and whines and jumps up and down to look out the screen door and whines. It's like she hates when company leaves. Seems like she gets so attached to them and is sad when they leave. I try to take her attention off of it by playing or getting her a treat but nothing helps. |
