No more matting! After many creams, conditioners, detanglers, silk shirts, etc.... (I could go on and on) and hours of brushing I have found a WONDERFUL product that keeps Gizmo mat free when wearing clothes! Its VO5 conditioning hairdressing. I use it on my hair and decided to try it on him and am very happy I did. After his bath, brush and dry I put it on. Whether I leave his clothes on for an hour or all day its the same. I haven't tried his harness yet so not sure if it would be the same. This is the ONLY thing I have found so far that works so good. You can get it from Walmart for a few dollars. |
I'll have to try it. I ned to try something new. Thanks. |
Actually someone mentioned that as a way to keep the short forehead hairs from going into their eyes when you're growing out a topknot. I had used a product that broke off the hair, and someone said that this is very gentle. Wasn't sure where to get it, I tried Target, but couldn't find it. Thanks for the tip. |
I think I have some of this in my bathroom somewhere! I will have to give it a try! :) |
I tried a product recommended by Mardelin (I think:confused:) it's for Black hair... Gro sheen or similar... has coconut oil and other friendly stuff in it... looks oily when you first apply it but soaks in by the next day... definitely a mat and static buster! And smells good....too! |
thanks for the tip!!! I love putting dresses and t-shirts on remy but hate the matting. I got so upset I cut all her hair.. leaving the legs and her head. It looked nice until I take her clothes of -- just kidding. It is growing back so I am going to try your tip ;) |
Mine not only get matted - she gets static cling. When I take her sweater off, her hair stands up on end, which causes her hair to get knotted up. Is the VO5 conditioning hairdressing a conditioner and a shampoo, or just the conditioner. If it's just the conditioner, is the VO5 shampoo okay also? |

Daisy's Breeder uses Pantene Pro v on all of her babies and they are Beautiful . Now Daisy had a bit of flaky skin and I tried head and shoulders with almond oil and it cleared up the flakes and no need for conditioner . |

Hey, I'm going to give this a try too. Question, V05 conditioning hairdressing. What is hairdressing, it that different from the condtioner you use like after you shampoo? lol |
the hairdressing is what my grandpa used to use to hold his combover in place :D It's sort of like vaseline in a way. |

I am gonna have to try this! I use Volumax Glaze (from Sally Beauty Supply) on my two. After shampoo and a tiny bit of conditioner, I apply a few nickel size amounts of the Volumax Glaze and rub it into the problem matt areas. Then I rinse it off really good. This product doesn't really prevent matts, but I can brush the matts out so fast and with such ease and without hurting them or having to cut them out! |
