I have a 2 years old rescue. 2 Attachment(s) I have a 2 year old yorkie that I rescued today. I went to my groomer yesterday. As I walked in the woman that owns the shop, said there was a woman that came in last week that had a yorkie she got from a friend that found her in August in the Baltimore area. She said when they found her, they went to all the vet offices in the area, posted signs, called the shelters. No one responded. So the friend took her for a while than this woman took her in September. Now she is here. I asked her why she needed to re-home her? She said she was diagnosed with diabetes. ( the woman) I was going to say okay, why do you need to re-home her. I personally do not think that is a good enough reason. But I said that is okay she needs to be in a new home if she is not wanted in that home. Well about Cali, She is thought to be 2 years old. She was thought to be spayed that is what the vet told her. Well she has been in heat for almost 2 weeks now. She said she was potty trained, but she has had a few accidents in the house. That is not uncommon.I have 6 dogs and I do have some that have had an accident as well. She said she is not a barker, she is now and barks at every little noise. But I sure can understand that, This is another new place. With a lot of new noises. My Romeo is going nuts over her, because she is in heat. He is fixed and has been for 3 years. His hormones are working good. She gets along with the cats fine and she is doing good with my 6 babies. She likes humping my poor Julie. She knows her kennel and is used to spending way to much time in there before coming here. She said she stayed in her crate from 7am to 4pm And than again over night. That is the reason she has not stopped and slowed down sense she arrived here today. The woman said she only fed her 1 time a day. Well, I have always fed am and pm.I am going to get her spayed as soon as she is able to be spayed. She is up to date on her shots and had blood work and all was good. I will be trying to find Cali the perfect home.If any one is interested please send me a PM. I have one other person that may be interested as well and I am waiting on a response from them as well. |
You are so sweet for taking this little one in. I hope you find her the most perfect home to go to. I think she deserves it. |
What a poor little girl... She's gone from home to home :( I'm glad to hear you've taken her in. Good luck in finding her a forever home. |
good luck...how sad. good of you to help |
What an amazing thing for you to do. If I lived close to you I would take her in a heartbeat , Daisy would love a little friend , and Hubby and I would love another little cuddle baby. I hope you find Cali the prefect forever home. |
How great it is for you to take this poor little girl in. If I lived closer I would also take her in a heartbeat she deserves to be happy. I hope and pray you find a forever home for this poor baby. |
You are an angel for this girl. It is so good of you to want to help her and get her in a permanent home. But you never know, I was going to place Lizzy, but that was two and a half years ago! Maybe she will stick. |
Thank you for helping this little girl in her long journey to a forever home. I truly hope that she will adjust to yet another home. Sometimes they never recover, and have a life time of trust issues and so on. She sure is a pretty girl and shouldn't have a hard time finding that perfect family, and I'm sure you will not let her go to just anyone. ;) |
That poor little girl. She's bounced around from home to home. She must feel so lost.:( |
Cali's Update Cali is doing better today. She is adjusting well to our home. She goes in Monday to be spayed. She is adjusting well to her twice a day feeding and loves her new food. I am gradually switching her over to Blue Buffalo with a teaspoon of boiled ground chicken and a tablespoon of chopped sweet potato with it. She already knows when it is time to eat and is sitting and waiting before the rest. She loves the idea of not being on a leash and can run in the back yard, Of course with total supervision. The first few days of a new home for these poor little babies is such a transition and confusing. But she sure has come a long way all ready. She is laying on the bed sleeping with the rest of my little ones. Cali is such a love bug, she gets right up in your face for kisses and hugs. I am trying to keep her out of the crate and trying to let her sleep on the bed with everyone else. She managed to sleep 2 hours on the bed last night and then the remainder in her crate. I will see how she does tonight. Thanks everyone for the nice comments. |
Bless your heart for taking her in and showing her love and attention! I hope you find her the perfect forever home. That little sweetie deserves that. |
She is beautiful! Good luck with her spay on Monday. I don't think you will have a problem finding her furever home : ) |
update on Callie Just wanted to update everyone on Cali. Cali made it fine though her spay. She was sore for a few days. Today she seems to be doing a bit better. Adjusting real good. Cali is acting like she hads lived here all of her precious life. I have had 9 people contact me about adopting her. I have been sending out applications to the ones interested. Once I get the apps back than I can decide who will be the perfect forever home for Cali. Then I will have those people come and See Cali to make sure that the chemistry is right for Cali and her new family. Them after all references / Vet are checked out then I will then go and check out her new home. Cali should be ready for her new home with in the next 2 to 3 weeks. |

God bless you for helping little Cali. Sounds like she has been passed around enough and really deserves a forever, loving home and living the spoiled Yorkie life. I am so happy to hear that you are going to such great lengths to assure her of the very best new home ... so many don't. God bless you for having such a big, caring heart!:thumbup: |
UPDATE Callie has been adopted Today, Callie went home to her new home.I had a lot of applications on her. After week of her being here I started to learn more about Callie. She was going to be much better off in a home with out other dogs or cats. She started to become a bit aggressive towards my little ones. She would walk past the cats them the next time she would chase them and bite at them . I had two families come and meet Callie, but she could not keep herself together enough, without fighting with one of mine that both families decided that they were to worried how she would do at there homes, because all of them had other dogs at home. Then this evening a woman called, came and looked at Callie. They spent about a hour with Callie. They have no other dogs or cats and they loved her. So I decided that Callie found her a new home. Bless her little heart, she was so excited to go with them in the car. I am so happy for Callie. She needs to be in her new home so she can start to settle in. |
So happy your story had a very happy ending...and it was really a good thing she found her way to your home and the other people were honest with their feeling of not taking her home with them, because it could end up with her being in yet another home, but the home she went to, now knows what is best for her and hopefully will not add any other animals and she can be queen of her castle...Thank you for sharing your story.... |
What a happy ending! I'm so happy she found a good home and thank you for taking her in, she's a lucky little girl! |
