No more blowdrying 1 Attachment(s) No more blowdrying for me. The last 4 times I have bathed the girls I let them run around to dry. I can tell a HUGE different in their coats. Lexi looks so pretty and shiney. Lexi has never had a knot before, (knock on wood) and has always been easy to brush. Now though she is so silky soft I could (but don't) use a regular people comb on her. Here is a pic of her |
blowdrying I think she looks absolutely beautiful. I believe that heat damages hair. I love to hold Brandy after a bath and toweldry her until she falls asleep in my arms. |
Oh WOW he's sooooo shiny! That's great. Honestly, I don't even own a blowdryer for myself, LOL! I keep meaning to buy one for Sully....but hey, if air-drying is better for their coats (like it is better for our hair too)...then hey, I'll stick to this method too! |
wow her hair does look gorgeous!! :aimeeyork yeah after i blowdry crunchy, his hair looks pretty dry/dull so i might just give this a try ...he'd especially love it since to him the blowdryer is the devil! its just that i hate to see him cold and damp |
I've never tried that. Mine LOVE the blow dryer and I am afraid they will catch cold if they don't get dry right away. I need to try it. How do you keep them warm? |

I get a towel along with everything else I need to groom them. I also put a towel in the dryer while I'm bathing them. When I get them out of the bath I wrap her in a towel, and towel dry her a bit then I get the nice warm towel out of the dryer and wrap her in that one and take the wet one off her. While still wrapped I put her in my lap and clip toenails, shave the tips of her ears, and clean them. Then I lay her on my bed or the couch all bundled up while I do the next one. Then when she gets to that point I take the first one and shave her bum and her girlie area, and brush her(by then she is almost completely dry) Let me warn you though they will run around like a mad dog for a few minutes first.. |
I always let peawee air dry. Usually in 5 min. he's dry. |

WOW Lexi's hair DOES look so darn perfect :D |
bathing I just rub her with the towel and switch off to a dry one if it gets too wet. I never thought of using the dryer for a warm one. I live in San Diego, so it doesn't get very cold here. I guess it depends on the dog because Brandy just LOVES to be held and dried off after her bath, she always falls asleep in my arms and dries off pretty quickly. But then again her hair isn't very long yet. |
I bought a commercial-type of dryer that does not have a heating element. It will eventually blow warm air but only from the motor as it does not have a heating element. It was costly, but I always have several adults to groom and I can put one in the drying cage while I am shampooing another one. I usually just hold them and dry with the comm. dryer and they do better that way. It takes mine forever to air dry and they rub all over the couch, walls and stuff and get all dirty again. I use their dryer for my hair..It is less damaged than when I used a human dryer with hot settings. |
Shelby loves the dryer. I have one that stands on it's own so I put it on warm/low and she stays right by it. she shivers when she is wet, maybe my house isn't warm enough  |
I always use a hair dryer , I let them dry naturally once and it was a real mess . I will never try it again . |
Lexi looks great!! I love that yellow bow!!! :D |
YES!! Dollar hates the hair dryer |
