Female Yorkie in Moscow OH needs home 2 Attachment(s) I ran across this ad for a free yorkie and gave the owner a call. This does sound real. This is the ad: Rescued fm Yorkshire Terrier, I do have some paperwork on her from the vet. She is not that good with kids, would be better with a older person. Please email me if you are interested in her, in subject write Yorkshire Terrier please. Thank you for your time. I call the woman and she doesn't seem to be familiar with yorkies. Her daughter, who works at a vet office, gave it to her. The owner had passed away and they didn't find her for two days (laying beside her)! How sad! The old owner's son brought her to the vet and just handed her off. We talked about what she is doing (barking, picky eater, allergic to fleas, bonding with her husband). Her husband can't stand her bonding with him and since they do not have a fenced-in back yard, she is having trouble taking her potty because she runs after people walking by. She will only eat off the floor or out of her hand and they are feeding her people food. Her daughter is giving her shots for the allergy. (She has cats who must be bringing in fleas.) She sounds like she is at her witts end and wants her gone. She thinks the vet estimated her age at around 6 years and possibly 10 lbs. She is going to call me back. This does sound real. Is anyone around there that needs a new baby girl? She looks adorable! |
Is she asking for a rehome fee? Would she be okay with you calling the vet that has seen her so that you can ask more questions about her health? She looks VERY cute in her pictures! |
Nevermind...I see that the ad says, "free". I would think that if it were a scam, then she would be asking for money but I don't know. |
I'll ask when she calls me back. She is looking for the info from the vet now. No fee. |
Are you thinking about adding her to your family? |
I thought about it because my son is in IN and will be driving to see me soon. He could possibly bring her down, but I haven't asked him yet. The problem is her weight. Ally is a very small 3lbs 2oz and everybody seems to run her over...even Tia, who is somewhere over 5lbs. I don't want Ally to get hurt. This little girl is super cute though; don't you think? |
How adorable!! I hope a GOOD home is found for her. I am adding a new member from my litter and I also have a 4 year old granddaughter who lives with us and you said she is not good w/ children. Best of luck!!!! |
I just Pm'ed you.. |
She is a cutie. I hope she is spayed and lands in good hands. |

Sorry it took me so long, but just opened her email. Kay Kay was estimated to be 5 - 6 years old and is 5 lbs. I don't know much else until I call her later today. Is there anybody nearby that may want her? She looks so sad and is really beautiful. |
That is so sad.:( I hope someone, who will love her, will go get her. |
I can't believe no one wants this little girl! Please let me know. |
I'd take her in a heart beat, even if just to place with a rescue or find her the right home, but I'm in GA. Maybe tonight, when more people are on YT, you'll find someone. |
Where is the dog located? This is extremely sad...Her owner died, she is rehomed with people that #1 don't know how to care for her and #2 do not want her. The BEST thing that can be done for this girl is for you to get her and contact a local Yorkie rescue to take, they will Vet her and care for her until the 'proper' home is found. The WORST thing that can be done for her is to be given away for FREE again to God knows who... If you are in FL - please get this girl away from these people ASAP... Call either Florida Yorkie Rescue or Animal Aid in Boca Raton ...this is so sad...and so wrong... |
It is sad and I feel so sorry for her that I think about her constantly. My husband doesn't want another dog, but I'm sure I could convince him...if she doesn't come with a lot of health issues. We've spent so much money on vet bills lately. I have someone trying to contact the new owner now. I believe that she is in the same state of OH. If it doesn't work out, I will then try to convince my son to bring her to me. I would not rehome her though. I just couldn't do that to her....again. I can just imagine what's going thru her little mind, losing her mommy and then going to another home and them not knowing what to do. I just couldn't do that to her. Her next home needs to be permanent. Maybe it was meant to be that I found this ad, I don't know. I just want her to be safe and with a forever, loving home. |
Ok, I just realized that perhaps this little girl is not in FL but in IN Is that true? This is heartbreaking...the thought of her being passed off again for free is horrible... She should really go to rescue. These ppl that have her now have no clue :( |
My son is in IN and will be driving down in a few weeks with his wife to visit for about a week. He could pick her up and bring her to me. They both love dogs and would be great with her. I'm trying. |

SO SAD :( :( |
Okay, you're making me feel worse. I really want her to go to someone on YT that will give her a forever home. I can't believe with the 'Free' that was posted, someone has gotten her. If she comes to me, she will be put on a pedestal...just like my other two yorkies and elderly pek. Although my husband is leary, he treats 'our girls' like queens too. He can't wait to come home, get on his hands and knees and love them!!!! Too funny to watch too. He can't stand that they want to be with me most of the time and not him. He gets so excited when they run to him!!! I think she is beautiful and don't want her passed around. |
I am confused, is this baby in Ohio or Fla? If she is in Ohio I can help but if not I cant. Please let me know. My babies are spoiled :littleangRIP Sophie Lynn Mommy loves and misses you |
She is in OH. I've just sent an email to United Yorkie Rescue - OH - Amherst Amherst, OH 44001 auntiem@unitedyorkierescue.org Hopefully someone can help. Would you like me to PM you her info? Someone else on YT contacted her and was told she is 10lbs and is aggressive and barks like crazy. The new owner emailed this morning and told me 5lbs. If she is more than 5lbs, I can't take her. Ally is just 3lbs and is run over by anything bigger than that. |
