Question about taking Rose to the Groomer Okay, here is my question..Friday I am taking Rose to the groomers..I want Rose's hair to grow long she is 4 mos. old and I know she still need the basic hair trim..but how do I go about it and making sure she will understand what I am wanting? The last time I took her.. the groomer cut her hair and when she put the little rubber band on the top it was short again? So I do not know if she is understanding what I want or if this is suppose to be done, since Rose is my first yorkie that I ever had. I have seen pics on her wall of other yorkies that she has done, so I know she does beautiful work, but I just need to know how to really explain it to her. I know some says bring in a picture, but that is hard to do..when I am not sure what a cut she look like especially when I am wanting it to get longer. Any help on the matter would be appreciated. |
Take a picture of what you want. Also, show her on each part of her body how you want it done. It is difficult to misunderstand explicit instructions with a picture.;) |
I just always tell mine that I'm keeping their hair long and to just tip the ears, neaten the feet and trim around the privates - and not to cut anything else. They've always gotten it right! |

She looks beautiful. I have the same problem with Quincy. Took him before Thanksgiving groomer had just been giving him hygenic grooms, picked him up and she had shaved him like he was done at the beginning of summer now he is naked for the winter time I was so mad. Found out at my mother in law's funeral a family friend was a groomer and from what I understood a very good one well I took him to her this weekend and loved what she did feet, ears, face and privates. Very pleased!! |
1 Attachment(s) I hear that! I trimmed the tip of her ears a couple of wks before taking her..because one of her ears was drooping and the lady that I got her from told me to get her ears trimmed and it worked the first time, but then it started drooping again..so I went to town and bought a beard and mustache trimmer and did it myself and anyways the groomer told me I did a real good job on it! I told her it was hard to keep her still...but I want to get her comfortable w/ the clippers..so she want wiggle so much! Here's a pic of her while her ear was drooping a little. |
