Some Groomers! A new grooming salon opened up right next to my nail salon, it was very cute and its clean. It’s a husband and wife that owns it, the husband apparently does all the bathing, and greets customers, the wife does the grooming. I talked to my nail tech and she said a lot of people have said the lady (owner) is very good. So I go in there one day just to chat, check prices. The lady wasn’t there. I talked to the guy, he was very nice, commented how handsome peanut was.. So I made an apt. When I dropped him off, I was able to meet the lady. She was nice.. Didn’t think much of her. I gave her a picture and said this is what I want him to look like…. Well I kid you not, I picked him up and he looked like a schnauzer. I couldn’t believe my eyes. When she brought Peanut up to me she was holding him like he had rabies! ( if punt doesn’t know you and you are holding him, he will wiggle, but if you talk to him and hold him tight he will calm down) Peanut was wiggling and he was very uncomfortable, she didn’t even talk to him! She was very cold with him. Usually groomers are dog lovers, and to me how she was treating peanut was so uncalled for, it made me upset knowing peanut was uncomfortable. So I said “can I have peanut” and she continued to talk and wouldn’t hand me my dog, Then I said more stern, hand me my dog. After I was holding him, she asked me if I liked his cut, I told her no not really, he doesn’t look like the picture. Then she said ok let me fix him for you. I said ok. She grabbed him like someone would grab a box, no feelings what so ever. She placed him on the table and started to fix him, I could just see it in eyes that he was uncomfortable, I just wanted to tell her to stop and to give me my dog back. She finished and he looked horrible, some hairs were longer than other, his face was all uneven! At this point I am done with this lady and her cold heart, so I paid what I owed and left! Oh and then the lady doesn’t even say bye or thanks for coming or anything she just takes off in the back… This lady knows nothing about customer service! The lesson I learned is, if you have a groomer you love, don’t ever try anything different!! |
Oh wow!! Poor Peanut. How horrible of her. I am soo glad I have the groomer I have. She does it from her home and as soon as I drop them off she is talkin to them and loving on them. I would spread the word so her business gets slim. I dont see how anyone would bring their dog back after being treated So badly! |

I will never try someone new! I would love to post something like a review on her business, but she doesn’t have a website yet, or even in yellow pages!! So I will have to wait! |
Sorry to hear about Peanut. I hope he is recovered from the horrible ordeal. I am also in Corona. Can you tell me which groomer you are talking about? I will help spread the words so another dog don't fall victim. |

I am sorry to hear Pnut and you had such a bad experience. I was lucky in the beginning. Buster was sick when I first got him so I could not go to a regular grooming salon. I saw a card for a woman who would come to your house at my Holistic pet store and she cuts the owner's 2 maltese. It is great because she comes at night and bathes and cuts Buster in my kitchen. I can see how she treats Buster and she gives a great cut. He gets really excited to see her so I know he is happy too. It is always so sad when you hear about a bad grooming experience because you realize how uncomfortable, scared, or worst of all hurt, the dog was during the process. |

Just read below that this lady is a yorkie breeder!!!! How horrible!!! |
That groomer will learn quickly that word of mouth works both ways. If she continues like this, she will find herself out of business before long!! |

WOW! That's terrible. I really hate things like that. I took Jackson to one groomer who was the same way. The haircut was terrible and I was just uncomfortable with the way they treated him... like I was just handing over a "thing" and not a living breathing being. I am sooo lucky that I have found a mobile groomer who is so super nice. She's friendly, personable, always responds to phone calls and e-mails promptly, and is available last minute for us (my dad uses her too for his dogs). And Jackson is always happy when he leaves and looks good. |

Thats another issue, I don't know why people go in business if they don't like what or who they have to work with.. I use to work as a Vet Tech and before that I worked at a groomer, I would always treat the dogs/cats that came in how I would want my animal to be treated.. I don't understand these people that have these jobs and they are just jerks... Esp the people who are nurses for older people and they just treat them like crap.. I also use to work as a caregiver, I worked in a home with 6 people 5 of them were in wheelchairs.. They all had Alzheimer's and other problems, I treated them like they were my own Grandparent. There was another caregiver, oh I hated her, when it was the end of her shift, she would just leave, All the people had dirty diapers, dirty clothes.. etc etc At this time I was 18 she was in her late 30's... I couldn't believe it.. I felt so bad for them, if you do that job you have to have some compassion for them, and its also common sense and RESPECT! People drive me nuts!! This world is honestly running out of good people! |
How awful! Thankfully my breeder also does grooming from her home so I know Stormy is well taken care of. The only downfall is that we talk forever so it takes a long time to drop her off and pick her up ha. |

Sorry Peanut was treated so horribly! I have no idea why people like that go into a business where they are going to be handling people's pets. It is traumatic enough for our pups to go to a groomer without them treating them badly. I have tried most of the groomers in our town. For a small town we have many. W have a small grooming school here so I think that has a lot to do with it. I had one lady treat my pups like your experience but she groomed well. It didn't matter, I won't go back. I thought of her as soon as I read how that groomer held your Peanut out away from her. That is how the groomer here handed my Ben back to me -- one-handed and never brought him close to her at all. He was sort of thrashing around when holding him more securely could have calmed him. I have also gone to another where they made me feel good about leaving him, only to return to a terrible grooming job. But.....I am lucky as we do have one really fantastic groomer nearby that takes special care with them, making them comfortable and also does a beautiful job with the grooming. I just wish she didn't require us to leave the pups so long. They all must be dropped off first thing in the morning as she has a shampooer come in early. Then she grooms them one by one and it is often late in the afternoon before I get them back. It is worth it though to know they are shown some love while they are going through their ordeal. The best deal I had was a mobile grooming lady that came to the house. She was a little bit of a thing and as sweet as could be with my pups. You could tell she loved animals. She also did a beautiful job of grooming and charged no more than what I was paying at the shops. She said she had no overhead, so why charge more. I loved that as all of the other mobile groomers around here seem to charge twice what the shops do -- makes no sense! Unfortunately my great mobile grooming lady moved to CO or AZ, can't remember which. Someone out that way will have a great groomer tho. |

Awhile back I was looking around for a new groomer. One groomer told me if there was something about my groomer that I did not like to talk to her about it. I didn't take that advice. I had someone else groom them and they looked horrible and Buster was really stressed when she finished. They now go back to the original groomer who is a dog person and a dog lover. And now, I don't mind telling her what I want done, it might not be exactly what I want but they always look cute. The best part is she is good to my babies and understands that Buster has issues and takes special care with him. I won't be looking again. |
