Barkfest
 
First, you need to know that Kacee is a very quiet yorkie and barks very little. I just took her out in her yard. We live on one-acre lots, too. She heard the little yorkie up the street barking and she knows her, so... Anyway, she started barking back at her. Then another dog would start barking, then another, then another. I allowed this to go on for a little while. I was laughing out loud. It was so funny. Every dog in the neighborhood and a few further away got into the act. I just couldn't stop laughing. Now, she is laying here next to me and still woofing under her breath!:D

I would love to know, too. I guess I'm in a silly mood, but it was really funny to hear one, then another, then another start barking. I've never heard them do that before.:D

Have you seen the old original version of 101 Dalmatians? The dogs had a barking alarm system. I can't remember what it was called. Every time I hear neighborhood dogs barking it reminds me of it. Was it the Scottland alarm?

That was my favorite movie when I was a kid (the cartoon version). I had the record that told the story. I know that dates me! I listened to it all the time. Does anyone remember canine crunchiest? Sorry - I didn't mean to hijack the thread!

I don't even remember that one, but I remember crying at the end of Old Yeller! Talk about being dated!:D

LOL! No, I watched the old one (was it made in the 60's or 70's?) growing up... until they made the one with Glenn Close, in like 1996 or something. But yeah I watched both. I was obsessed with dogs as a kid, too! lmao! :p Seriously... every dog movie was probably my favorite growing up.

It had to be the 60s. I was born in 58 and it was my favorite movie when I was little. I was like you. I loved every dog and for that matter animal movie. I loved Black Beauty too!

I never saw Black Beauty actually! Or maybe I did but it was a long time ago. Actually, I watched Homeward Bound tonight for the first time in.... forever. And I forgot how GREAT that movie was. I was crying, lol. Yep, I'm a sucker for the animal movies.

Lol me too! 101 Dalmatians was by far my favorite movie when I was growing up, the original and I got the DVD when it came out of the "vault" :D I've been a canine lover forever haha :thumbup:

I love the under-the-breath woofs. Max sounds like a human saying woof and it makes me laugh uncontrollably. Does Kacee ever sound like that?

I recently learned that howling, "wooowooooowoooo," is the dog's way of sending long distance messages. Max does it in the house when I take Teddy out alone.

Yes! That's exactly what it sounded like. Kacee howls when she hears sirens!:D It's such a mournful sound, too.:(
