rescue remedy I found rescue remedy but is not the one for pets. From what i have read here some people have given the regular one to their furbabies. I am flying on saturday and i need to know how much to give her and when to give it to her. She weighs 4.5 pounds. On the package it states 4 drops as a dose. I would love to hear how other yorkies reacted with this remedy. Does it just mellow them out or put them out. I have meds from the vet that i gave her this week to see how she would react and at first she was like a drunken sailor. Later it seemed she was just quieter. I would rather just use something natural as i am afraid how the meds will work at the higher altitude. |
Well, I don't know about giving them the human kind. I think it has alcohol in it, whereas, the doggie kind doesn't, if I remember correctly. I hope someone can give you some direction. |

Probably too late to help with your flight in time, but wanted to let you know that human rescue remedy does contain alcohol, which isn't a good idea for dogs. My vet told me about rescue remedy for dogs (they sell it at Whole Foods) as a potential treatment for my dog's anxiety/OCD. I've been giving him 4 drops soaked into a treat twice a day on days when I know he may be anxious. So far, not a huge difference, but the vet told me that it can be really effective for some dogs. She also said that for some dogs the effects can last all day, for others, the effects are very short-term. Hope the flight went well! |
Never heard of it...let us know how it works for you, I'm curious! I just looked at their site and they say it is "100%, natural, safe, and without side effects" so I'm guessing it too is homeopathic...but they do say to use the pet version for pets specifically... Personally I swear by Dogswell Mello Mut (it's chicken jerky). I prefer it as my rescue dog has serious anxiety issues, one fear aggression incident at the groomer and they recommended sedation...I found Mellow Mut when I won a Dogswel gift basket and it has always worked for me-it is homeopathic, organic and the chicken used in it are free ranging-I even tried it before giving it to my dog....it was probably the best jerky I've ever had...but hmmm:rolleyes: chamomile isn't going to take off in people jerky anytime soon...Scoober ate an entire full bag one Fourth of July-he seemed really stoned!;) He watched the big (city's) fireworks show with us without incident though... |
