Bedtime for your baby Does your yorkie have a regular bedtime routine or things he/she regular does before going to sleep? Lucy is whining to get into my bed at 9:00 pm sharp. Even if we are in the basement watching TV, she goes up to my room and whines until someone puts her in my bed. She doesn't care if I'm in there or not; it's 9:00 PM and time for her bed! Just before that, she gets a toy and a chewie in her mouth and prances around with it all around the house; making sure we all see her. Over and over again, until she wants up in bed with it. She's fast asleep even though the rest of us are still downstairs. My son says that 'her small dog metabolism is shutting down; she can't stay up past 9 pm. It's so sweet:aimeeyork |
Cute! Muffin and Boomer just fall asleep next to me until I say "ok let's go to bed" Then they both run to get on my bed. Boomer has to "nibble" on my sheets a little bit. While Muffin likes to get under the covers to go to sleep. |
If I'm not upstairs getting ready for bed by 9:00PM at the latest, Buster will go to the stairs and whine. I go to bed early because I get up at 4:00AM. But on the week-ends if I stay up late, he lets me know that it's not part of the routine. |
Sammy just goes to bed around 10:00. I guess he's tired at that time. My friend's husband says to their dog - Daddy's going to bed now and the dog runs up the stairs and jumps in the bed!! |

Your yorkie does this as well?! Rocky has this habit of chewing on the sheets as well. I thought it might have been a nervous thing that he started from his previous home for it wasn't the greatest for the little guy... But, as the bedtime goes, Rocky just sleeps in his little bed or my bed. We go out to potty around 11ish or so, and then when we get back in. I say "Let's go NIGHT NIGHT" and he jumps around and then runs and jumps into bed and curls up. hehe. |

Max and Teddy take naps starting at 8 and until I'm ready to go to the bedroom. One of them usually starts begging for bed between 11-12. We used to play before bed, but now they just want belly rubs, kisses, and proclamations of love before stealing my blanket and pillows. :) |
I'm pretty much the same as 2Morkies. On weekends we usually fall asleep together in front of the telly |
Me and my grandma stay up late but Callie normally just plays around and naps in the living room until I'm ready for bed then when I am taking my night time meds she will run outside to do a last pee, then come in go to my room, I open the door she runs and jumps on the bed, hits her nose on her night gown I layed out earlier and sits and waits for me to change her clothes,I kiss her on top of the head, clean eye buggies, then give her her night time treat, then pick her up off the bed and set her in front of her little house, she goes in, kisses my hand, and I tuck her in. She gets way grumpy and will not go straight to bed if I change something. Sometimes if she is really worn out from a big day she will go outside and then cry at my bedroom door to say shes ready but not a lot. |
Mine is only 5 mnths old but he will go and get on his doggie bed in my bedroom around 9 pm. Then when I'm ready for bed he gets out of his bed and waits for me to pick him up to put him in my bed :) I swore he wouldn't sleep in my bed with me but that little booger snuck his way in. He also takes up the most room for a 4 lb dog! My 25lb schnauzer takes up less room! Ha :D |
my dh and i had to buy a king size bed, as the double was just awful with 3 dogs and us,i would get up in the night and go to back room and sleep, so it had to be sorted, king size is great, now i have a new big baby ,and he is a teapot:rolleyes: , the king still works as bailie is old now and sleeps on bed on floor, non of them will go to bed unless we go, routine is TOILET,BED lol |
Oh, I love hearing all the bedtime stories. These little guys just steal your heart. |
Jamie starts whining to go into bed by about 9pm which is usually hubbie's bedtime. If he doesn't go in to the bedroom, she usually does anyway. She sleeps on the bed but at the foot end of the bed or in her bed on the floor. When I get to bed she usually comes by me for her massage and cuddles but does not like to sleep touching me like my previous yorkie. I awake to her sweet yorkie kisses in the morning. gotta love it! |
We go to be early and get up early. If we aren't in bed by 9 pm Sophie will sit and stare at us from the hallway leading to our bedroom. When we say "okay, time for bed" she runs around and finds her little soft raccoon and with "Rocky" in her mouth climbs the bench at the foot of our bed and climbs in bed. Then she paws at the cover to get in between that and our blanket and settles in between my husband and me. In the morning we wake up to Sophie's soft kisses:wub: I love her routine ! |
My boys just start slowing down and I know it's time to put them in their area to sleep. As soon as I do, they are in bed and asleep. Last night I was trying to tiptoe around the house as not to wake a sleeping puppy. He woke up when I was right above his crate and looked at my like what do you want mommy, and went right back to sleep. |
In general, I do my computer time at night time. So around 8pm, I usually get on and I'll stay on til 11 or midnight (I'm usually on YT, or watching youtube videos, or watching a movie on my computer, browsing other websites, etc). Jackson will usually chew on his bully stick out in the living room where my step-dad watches TV and then around 9:30, he'll come into my bedroom and curl up on his dog bed while I'm on the computer. Around 11, I say 'lets go potty' and he does his last business for the night, then I say 'hop up on the bed' and give him his night-night treat and we crawl into bed for the night. He will sleep until 9-10am with me if I can. If I have to get up earlier, I take him outside and then he comes back in and goes back to sleep. |
