-Yorkie hair cuts? What are different types of hair cuts for yotkies my lil girl barely got her firs trim not to long ago, and I want to cut her hair soon but I dont knw whaat haircuts look pretty on yorkies any suggestiond anyone. |
It depends I think it all depends on the type of coat your yorkie has. Some have curlie, fine coats. I keep mine in a puppy coat since he hates to be brushed. My other little girl has a straight, fine coat although not silky. I keep her a little longer. Just remember...it also depends on how often you are willing to groom your baby. The longer the coat, the more brushing is required. Quote:

1 Attachment(s) Mine are long (I really like the look) but my favorite short cut is the one that Nancy99 has on Joey. Here is picture of a similar cut. You may have to grow her hair some to have it but I think it's so cute and easier to maintain than long. The puppy cut is always cute too! |

I sent Nancy a message asking her to come visit this thread. Mine are long and don't have this cut but this is the style I will use if they ever get cut shorter. Nancy will probably check in tomorrow. |
haha super cute!! i know what haircut presto is getting next time!! |
I have Morgan in the same clip as Joey. I call it the Pony Clip. Since her hair is cottony the cut does look slightly different but the pattern is the same. I did this on a clients silky yorkie not too long ago as well. She loves it. |

Wow, you guys were up late last night! That's a picture of Joey the first time he got the cut, that time the chest hair was left long, and it gives a different look to the cut, lately she's been doing the chest hair shorter. Jacquelinebabco did a thread, http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...tell-joey.html, and many members showed pictures of their dog in this cut. Joey has great silky hair, and I hated to have it cut, but I saw other dogs of Joey's breeder with this cut and loved it so much. Yorkies have such a cute body, and I say "If you got it flaunt it." It seems to work well on both cotton and silky hair, but the main idea is the body is shaved and the leg hair is left longer, there are many variations in facial hair and tail hair, we leave it long on Joey's tail, and it looks like another topknot. :D |
2 Attachment(s) Bullet gets a "Westie" cut - his neck and back are shaved down with a longer "skirt" along his underbelly and legs. Having Rio in a full coat is a lot of work, so when we got Bullet we decided he'd be in a shorter cut. |
